Hi All Smile

I just purchased the two cleansers--"Face and Body Cleanser" and "Rinseless Cleanser". I've been using the products for one week now--one on each side of my face, so that I can compare the two products--and I have a few questions and need some help from veteran users. On one hand, the products seem to make my face feel very smooth afterwards and my pores are smaller, but on the other hand they seem somewhat stripping to my skin. Does anyone else have this problem?

Here are my questions:

1) So I've been trying to compare both the cleansers by applying each to one side of my face. This weekend, I noticed that the side of my face that had been receiving the Face and Body Cleanser appeared to be somewhat dry and flaky (this never happens to me unless I use soap) after I removed the cleanser (about as dry as if I used a mild soap), but the side with the Rinseless Cleanser looked just fine. This morning, though, both sides of my face looked fine and hydrated enough and back to normal. I have normal skin, so I'm concerned about the strange obvious dryness and flaking, even though it was temporary. Does anyone else have a problem with the Face and Body Cleanser being drying or stripping, or at least more drying than the Rinseless Cleanser? I'm concerned about disturbing/removing the natural balance of oils on the skin--does anyone have a problem with that? I read somewhere that the pH of the Face and Body Cleanser was much higher than the Rinseless Cleanser--so maybe that explains the problem? Or, perhaps the problem is that I am not applying anything to my skin after I clean my face with the cleansers? Finally, which of the two cleansers do people find more effective?

(2) With the cleansers, how long did it take to see the first noticeable results in terms of skin cleanliness? In particular, how long did it take for the products to start unblocking your pores and removing blackheads? I want to make sure that I experiment with the products long enough to see a real difference Smile

(3) Do you find that you need additional exfoliation, in additional to the cleansing step?

The products seem to mostly be working, with some glitches, so I really want to make sure I doing this right.

Thank you SO much!!!! I really appreciate any help and tips Smile

Hi CM, welcome to the forum! It's been a long time since I've used ZB's regular cleanser so I'm afraid I can't really comment on it, but I will say that I've been using the Rinseless Cleanser for years and it is still one of my holy grail staples. I use it in the morning before I put my make up on and I love how it never makes my face feel tight or stripped. I also use it sometimes when I come home and want to take my make up off, but I don't want to actually go to the trouble of washing my face. I do have skin that needs a lot of exfoliation, though, so at nighttime I like to use an exfoliating cleanser such as Ain't Misbehavin from Dermadoctor along with my clarisonic brush, so depending on your skin type you might want to think about throwing in some extra exfoliation too. One easy option if you still want to use the ZB cleanser is to use it with Cargo's blu_ray polishing cloths--- they are affordable, work with any cleanser, and do a great job of exfoliating. HTH!

Hi Manslayerliz! (Great name, btw)

Thanks so much for responding to my post Smile I'm pretty convinced now by the slight tightness of my skin and the flaking afterwards that my skin doesn't like the "Face and Body Cleanser"--makes sense given the high pH. However, I really like the Rinseless Cleanser and think that it has really made the pores on my nose much smaller, so I think I will continue with that. I take it as a good sign that you've continued to use The Rinseless Cleanser all these years! Smile Are there any other Zenbiotic products you still continue to use regularly?

I will also check out your suggestions for exfoliation.

Thanks so much for all your help!!

Warm wishes Smile

Manslayerliz,

I am also interestedin knowing if you keep using Zenbiotic produtcs.

When I checked the comments of PSF O2, I found that Zenbiotic was making similar product and you're one of EDS members who had used both PSF & Zenbiotic products.

The ZB products I still use regularly are the Phyto Moisture, Oxytoner, Sun Protect, and Moisture Enrich. The Phyto Moisture in particular is something I can't live without--- sometimes if my skin is dry some flakes will show up after I apply my MMU, but just a small spritz of the Phyto Moisture over my make up banishes the flakes whence they came.

As for the O2 products, it's been a while since I used them both, but I remember thinking that ZB's was almost as good as PSF's, and since the ZB version was a billion times more affordable I stuck with that one. HTH!

Manslayerliz-

I just got samples of The Vital Image's face and body cleanser and grime fighter from Pure Body Solutions. They seem very similar to Zenbiotics products. Are they the exact same, just being sold under different names?

It's only been a few days so I don't know if I will wind up ordering them, but if I do I am not sure where to order from. Is there an advantage to Zenbiotics v. the Vital Image?

Also, does Zenbiotics have a "collagen builder" product, and if so, have you ever tried it?

Thanks
Dianne

Where do you all buy your Zenbiotic products. I was thinking EDS sells it, but I guess not. Can you just buy this at a pharmacy?

I've always ordered from Zenbiotic (www.zenbiotic.com). I can't find the recent 5% off coupon that came in the email but if you subscribe to their e-news, they come every so often. I also ran across this code for 10% off until September 09: goodlife.

Thanks for the code havana. I really have to stop coming on here. I wasn't planning on trying any new products lines, but after reading manslayerliz's rave I had to do a search on the line and was wowed so I just went and ordered the 3-step with the rinseless cleanser, oxy toner, phyto moisturizer and the sun protect and colloidal silver. Sigh.
