Hi everyone, I just joined the forums and this is my first post. But I've been lurking these boards forever now, reading up on all the great skincare advice. (Thanks!)
For what seems like decades now, I've been searching for the perfect cleanser for my oily but prone to irritation skin. I've tried a spectrum of cleansers, from high-end brands to Cetaphyl, and none have worked well for me. So while at Walgreens I came across this line, Skin Appetit, that claims to be a nutritions approach to skincare, paraben-free and made with "superfood" ingredients. I did a search for it here, but didn't find anything on it.
The list of ingredients is a bit overwhelming. Some of it reads like a frozen yogurt stand menu, while some just don't sound very "edible" to me. The line also has this "nutrx8 complex" formula that's in all their products. I was hoping there's someone who can interpret ingredient lists and tell me if this product is any good for oily/sensitive skin, especially for someone using retinoids. Basically, I want to know if this is just hype. There's no indication the products are for any specific skin type, which normally scares me a little. I purchased the cleanser and used it the last couple of days. No irritation yet but it's too early to tell, and I'm only using it in the morning. It rinses easily, and the texture is kind of like a sorbet, not greasy but not super creamy either. I have not used it as my night cleanser yet because I have a feeling it's too weak to remove a day's worth of grime.
Here's the list of the cleanser's ingredients:
Water, Sodium C14-16 Olefin Sulfonate, Sodium Methyl Cocoyl Taurate, Stearic Acid, Cetyl Alcohol, Stearyl Alcohol, Cetearyl Alcohol, Ceteareth-30, Glycol Distearate, Panthenol (pro-vitamin B5), Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C), Propylene Gylcol, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Cinnamomum Cassia (Cinnamon) Bark Extract, Hydrolyzed Silk, Macadamia Ternifolia Seed Oil, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Methylchloroiso-thiazolinone, Methylsothiazolinone, Fragrance, Blue 1, Red 33. Nutrx8 Complex: Vaccinium Angustifolium (Blueberry) Fruit Extract, Cucumis Melo Cantalupensis Fruit Extract, Vitis Vinifera (Grape) Fruit Extract, Hydrolyzed Yogurt Protein, Ficus Carica (Fig) Extract, Juglans Regia (Walnut) Seed Extract, Theobroma Cacao (Cocoa) Extract, Honey Extract.
TIA! |
