I strayed and went to a different stylist and the result is not at all what I wanted, so I would like to return to my previous stylist. Do hairstylists hate that???
My new style is drastically different that what I had before and it will take forever to grow all the choppy layers out to what I had before with my "old" stylist. So, in addition to having a cruddy hairstyle for the next 2 months, how do I go about mending the relationship with my old stylist? Bring chocolate??!! |

No, chocolate is a direct admission of guilt.
Maybe as options you can tell her
- that you were travelling and tried a fancy (but very disappointing!) hotel salon, or
- your cousin or smth completed hair stylist courses and convinced you to give her a chance
.. I know these sounds childish! But, i think that stylists do value and need your business (kind of "nothing personal, just business" ), plus i'm sure it's not the first time the "customer cheating" happened to her. Maybe she will even be flattered that you appreciate her so much that you came back despite the awkwardness of the situation |

The first thing that popped into my mind was the "my relative graduated from hair school and begged to do my hair" excuse....it really does happen more than you think. (I know, because my sister did it to me and ruined my hair)
However, that only works once....and it means that the next time you stray, you really can't go back. They'll forgive you once, but that's usually it. |

I strayed from my stylist of eight years a couple months ago. While the new girl did a good job, I missed the demeanor of my other stylist. I've made an appt togo back to her a week. I'm really sort of betting she won't even notice because after my hair grew out you rally can't tell it's all the different. She usually forgets what she does to my hair anyway! But if she notices, I'll just say I had a day off and went to get my hair done on a whim, and went to a place that could take me right in, whereas with her I have to book up to a week ahead of time. Which is the truth.
Plus, I had called her a week or so before that to make an appt and she never called me back. |

I think we have all done this. I got a bad uneven cut by going some where else. I just said I was traveling and really needed a cut. |

Yes, maybe I'm making too much out of it....
Meanwhile, I'm chowing down on the MSM/VitaminC and biotin and protein drink to try to grow it out faster! |
