So...I met up with a group of folks this weekend who hadn't seen each other in three years. And, several of them commented on how radiant I looked. (Cynthia even took me aside to ask what work I had had done, and could I recommend my surgeon!) All I have done is a good course of active skincare (and eating lots of healthy green vegs. (Vitamin C, retinoid, lots of sunscreen are my three keystones. I've recently added LED, but I think it is too soon for that to be showing up much.)
Ironic, since I had just posted about how can we know whether what we are doing is working. I suggest meeting up with friends who haven't seen you in a while...worked for me! |

Congrats, it makes all the research here worth it when you look in the mirror and get compliments like that. I recently had someone say something to the effect that "she has nice clear skin, just like yours". I can't tell you how good that felt since three years ago I was hiding my face behind my hair because I had so many breakouts and my skin was just blah. I also get mistaken for much younger than I actually am. Just last week once of my son's girlfriends thought I was his sister. He wasn't impressed. |

Good for you, Diana. It does feel good to know that we can have healthier skin by our choices. I feel particularly blessed by having the options that we have these days. |

Flitcraft, which line sells "Vitamin C" you mention, and in which form - cream/serum/else? Or is it just a liquified over-the-counter Vit C? What are its benefits and since what age is it good?
So many questions
Thanks! |

Congrats! I too have been complimented lately by friends who haven't seen me in years. I also posted a pic of myself on Facebook and people are telling me I look exactly the same as when I was in my 20s - I do think that's a bit of an exaggeration but I do think I am aging better than many of my cohort! |

Natalia, There are quite a few good vitamin C serums out there, and if you look the DIY section of this forum, there's advice about how to make your own.
The best scientific data on skin improvement is on the l-ascorbic acid version of vitamin C (though many have had good results with other forms of Vitamin C, such as ester C). The problem with l-ascorbic acid is that, in a water based carrier, it is terribly unstable. "Turned" Vitamin C goes a brownish color, and does not good and may even be harmful to the skin. So I stick with brands of l-ascorbic acid that are known to be extremely stable.
My favorite is Cellularskin-rx, but I also liked Vivier's C serum. (It's a lot pricier, which is why I don't use Vivier.) Both are sold on EDS. |

Friends are often the toughest critics, so I would call that a DEFINITE validation! Congrats!! |
