The nice lady at the shoppers drug mart gave me a sample package of this a few days ago when I went in for my creme eyeliner (LOVE that stuff)

I've tried the primer for a few days, trying different methods.

The first day I used the primer and the smashbox foundation I got when I redeemed my shoppers points. Worked great...nice smooth, even application.

Second day I tried the primer with my JI loose powder. I found my minerals went on a lot easier, and I could get better coverage because I could layer the powder more without it getting thick/heavy looking.

In short, I like this stuff. It's a bit expensive but helped cure a few of my foundation problems.

lianne - I've been curious about this product for a while but since I don't wear foundation I haven't tried it. Would you say it improves the look of your skin before you apply makeup over it? Does it clog your pores or feel heavy at all? And what about shine?

I've never tried it on its own.

It doesn't feel heavy and hasn't clogged up my pores at all. And it's not shiney on the skin.

I have the same questions as above. But with your review, I might just take the plunge and buy this.

lianne - I just ordered the travel size from Sephora because some listed on eBay are selling for even more! Besides Sephora and eBay, I couldn't find any other site that sells the smaller size. I did a search here and some people say they like this product even without wearing foundation over it.

cool...The shopping channel in canada had a promo this weekend that was the full size plus the travel for $43 and they sell just the regular for $44 but I missed out. By the time I called they were completely out. I did however get a kit of other stuff before it sold out. http://images-p.qvc.com/is/image/a/30/a58130.001?$proddetailmain$

They have a coloured primer called blend that's an apricot colour. It's supposed to help even out skintone. I wonder if that could be worn alone if you like the result but want a bit of evenness?

Got this today and I really like it! Even though I don't wear foundation, it subtly diminishes the look of pores and fine lines and for this reason alone it's worth it for me. It also has a softening, mattifying effect. It's very light on my face and helps facilitate blending of concealer around my eyes, along my nose, etc. I didn't have any trouble applying it over my oily sunscreen -- it goes on easily and I didn't have to use as much powder to the reduce the sunscreen shine.

I'd been sitting on the fence about this product -- thanks for the recommendation Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy

I'd die without my Smashbox Primer- this is a must-have for me. I use it everyday without fail. It doesn't clog my pores, doesn't irritate and makes for a beautiful primer before undereye concealer. Foundation and cream concealer go on like a dream over the primer....I've used the apricot tinted primer as well - it's gorgeous....just a slight tint....kind of like what you get from the YSL and L Mercier highlighting wands....maybe eveb a bit less of a tint - and no shimmer...If you can get your hands on a squirt of this stuff, you'll probably love it - I'll never be without it....and it beats the L Mercier primer hands down - no competition in my book.

Just wondering how does this compare with the Jane Iredale Primer?

The only JI primer I've tried is the eye lid primer and it was mediocre. (My shadow still creased)

I watched this primer in my Watch list at eBay but didn't bid, I went for the YSL Touche Eclat instead. I've wanted to try it forever because I need a smoother base before my foundation. Read: spackle-like product Laughing

Can you really get it at Shopper's Drugs (not at our tiny one I know)? And what is the cream liner you speak so highly of, Lianne??? Smile

I see Shoppers has boutiques in Vancouver only. Sad I could probably have them send it if I called, though. I'll try the Shopping Channel first.

smashbox creme eyeliner...I love that stuff. It goes on without tugging and lasts me all day.

The only 2 stores you can get it in vancouver are Dunbar and Yaletown.

Cool, I hate an eyeliner that tugs! I just ordered some primer from the CAD shopping channel. I found eBay to be as expensive as retail and all from the US so who knows how long it would take to get here. Thanks for the great reveiw, Lianne! There are quite a few to choose from, LM,JI and SB, this thread cleared it up for me!

The shopping channel takes about a week. I've gotten one order from them (awaiting my 2nd) and my brother ordered some proativ a while ago and he said it came fairly quick.

You can always track it to see what day it gets shipped out of the warehouse...

Can't wait to try this stuff! It was $44 CA with free shipping where as Sephora is $36 US/$44 CA plus shipping plus duty/taxes.

Soo, this stuff is cool!! I've been using it for two days now. It's like silk on my skin! I find it's really matte though and gets tight, where does moisturizer fit in? It says to apply to 'clean, dry skin'. I'm going to try moisturizing before the primer today. The ingredients looked moisturizing but I guess not! Otherwise, it's fabulous stuff! Just what I've been looking for! I'm amazed at how light feeling it is yet very effective.

Yay Lolli!!! Isn't it great stuff??!! I just *love* it!!! I've never used it without moisturizer...I always use my treatment first (c serum, then cream, blah, blah), then the primer, then liq foundation ....it really does help to give a photo finish to your skin! But for sure use your reg treatment first....strange that it says to put on clean dry skin...that's misleading...it's a primer - not a straight-up skin treatment..oh well...I still LOVE it!!

Thank you Pudoodles, I did what you said this morning and it's waaaayyyy more comfortable! Smile I'm using loose JI powder and concealer today and it really helps it go on smoothly.
