Hi all,
As I have been posting for ages I found my HG foundation in SKII airtouch and never thought I would switch. I loved the no makeup finish and the compact unit that travelled well. Plus no messy liquids and brushes!
Well in the past 2 months I have switched to Revlon Colorstay Minerals in light medium shade and I have to say that I love it. I tried lots of mineral brands before (thanks to ladies here encouraging reviews) but hated all of them. The finish was dry, chalky and messy with all the application tapping and swirling etc etc.
However, this product comes in a little jar with brush in the lid that is perfect for people on the move or to pop into a purse. I brush it on over a little moisturiser and the finish is lovely;sort of light diffused and natural. It lasts a good six hours and does not look weird if i apply a bit more on top.
So I am awaiting any breakouts on the skin but so far nothing to speak of.
So perhaps I have found something better and cheaper than the airtouch? Main drawbacks with the SKII was that they have not added any new shades (mine is ever so slightly too pale) and it does get very shiny at times and of course the refills are not exactly cheap. The Revlon stays matte and therefore looks fresher and the shade is closer to my natural skin tone.
Will update if I vascillate back to the SKII. Still love the skincare line though they have just closed a counter in Selfridges like Decleor did some months back. Recession perhaps?

Thanks I may have to check this out. My struggles with MMU are many and I agree with the look and hassle being discouraging. My last go-round with Lauren Hutton's MMU brought me weeks of breakouts that are just now getting under control. |
