Ok...here we go again. Hopefully I got the questions all correct this time!
This is a survey to try and identify why some people feel virtually no pain when rolling, while others feel extensive pain. If we can identify a trend, it may help new rollers determine if they should purchase numbing agents or not.
Using the poll feature ensures that your answers are anonymous, so please answer honestly.
I would also ask that everyone please refrain from lectures on smoking or opinions on peels.
Thanks for participating! |

I don't do this, but this is a great idea for a survey. Unfortunately so far the sample size is too small to draw conclusions from. It doesn't help that the results are all over the map. |

Agree, the results are all over the map so far. Hopefully there are a lot more people who will participate, there has to be more than 8 people who use the dermaroller. Still, it is beginning to look like it really doesn't matter if one is a smoker, user of peels, or anything. Individual pain tolerance or lack thereof seems to be just that, an individual thing! |

I said non-smoker/peeler w/ sig pain, but my pain is mostly on the upper lip lines. other areas are moderate.
I also usually have a high pain tolerance. |

I'm a smoker and overall I have very little pain when rolling, except, like others I find the upper lip area is extremely sensitive. So I answered "Smoker-Very little pain". Also, even though I roll pretty aggressively, I don't bleed much either.
I've yet to try Bethany's bottle of wine numbing method - I'd be afraid I'd do myself permanent damage |

After my last major hangover, even I am looking at other options...the bottle of wine and Climax Spray just isn't cutting it for me!
I ordered some EMLA...I am hoping it works!! |

I do not fit the categories. I do not feel a large amount of pain when I roll on my face but my chest is very much more sensitive.
I have never smoked but I have used glycolic acid not frequently but occasionally in the past (haven't done this for over a year). I do use low concentration glycolic products from time to time. |

Sharky, I would just answer the survey based on your face. If I do another poll in the future I will call that out specifically. |

Hi, I've been rolling 2x a month with my 1.5mm.
I've used retina for years. The most sensitve part of my face is below my nose to the upper lip. I've gotten used to the discomfort. I don't look forward to my rolls, but I believe they improve the condition of my skin, so I'll stick with it. |
