Okay I had highlights done at the salon last night, and it cost me $125 and I tipped the stylist $30. It was almost 10 pm when I was done so she couldn't put a toner in, but she offered for me to come back and have a toner put in at no cost.

Now, do I tip her again when she does the toner?

Yikes for $125.00 she should have finished regardless of the time. I would not have tipped her until she "completed" the service you paid for.

20% tip was $25 and you went above that. Thats a good tip. I wouldnt - there wasnt time to finish the job and you already paid for it all - including the tip. Your all set - and there should be any hard feelings - unless shes seriously greedy Wink which probably isnt the case. Dont feel bad - again - you paid for a job thats not finished and you already tipped over the norm.

Thanks ladies! Well technically I didn't pay for the toner, she just offered it to me.

I'll feel weird walking out without giving her anything, but I did already tip her $30. Confused

Hi Sahmisme - Toner is never an extra cost when it comes to highlites it's part of total cost. When I get highlites I always get toner that way they don't look too brassy.

sahmisme, no I wouldn't tip for the second part of the service. On the same note, I always tip with cash, rather than put it on plastic. Nicer, I think.
