For the past 6 months, I've been using PCA Skin's Phaze 16 serum, with 15% vitamin C and 5% vitamin E, and while I both quite like it, and not the least, can tolerate it, I'm always on the lookout for something better. But my skin normally doesn't like vitamin C; it gives me a rash, and the PCA-serum doesn't do that, but still, it has a very siliconey feeling to it that I don't really like.
So any other suggestions? Also, I'm wondering about the order of products; I have switched to a Decleor moisturizer now, and I also use the aromessence. But how should I combine this with the vitamin C? The oil sinks right into my skin, and I guess the Vit C goes on top of that, since it's a waterless, silicone-based product, is that right? Then, I wait a few minutes before applying moisturizer and sunscreen.
(I'm fed up with layering, but have realized it's the only way to go). |

As far as I know, C serum is always the first product used, with about a 15 minute wait if at all possible before anything else goes on top.
Is it l-ascorbic acid that is the irritant for you? If so, there are some ester C products that might work. Skinmedica's C serum is loved by many, those I think it is silicone based, so if you are trying to avoid that, it might not work.
If l-ascorbic acid isn't the problem (sometimes its the base that is the problem) there are a lot of options, some of which are available on EDS. Why not ask for samples of some of them with your next order? |

Skinmedica is similar to the PCA one i'm using now, but more expensive, so I guess I won't try that one. But I don't think the C-serum goes first if it's a thick, silicone-y cream based one, because otherwise, thinner products won't be able to penetrate the skin. |

I think you're probably right--I only have used thinner serums. |
