Dear all,
We've had a similar request on the forum years ago but have removed it because we didn't have any problems (luckily) with this topic for quite some time. I figured that especially with the US election coming up, and with the recent "nice-gone-ugly" thread, it was time to ask everyone to respect this rule again.
We would appreciate it if politics were not discussed here. Such discussions generally lead to heated debates. That isn't necessarily a bad thing but unfortunately all too often these discussions bring out the worst in people. The most recent thread (of which the original post only slightly, if at all, touched on politics) descended into ugly name calling, sarcasm, and just general negativity. Consequently the thread has been removed. Please respect the request to avoid such discussions, I'm sure there are better venues to voice such concerns. Moreover, please avoid ANY discussions in which your input is sarcasm and name calling.
