The EDS forum has reached a milestone - 1000 members, and growing fast! You can really tell it's growing too by how quickly the product review forum moves through (I'm having trouble keeping up! ).
I have not had as much time this past month to post here (though work is starting to settle down now- fingers crossed!) but I'm here everyday reading all the posts and watching it expand. I love this place, the people I have 'met' through here and all the product and beauty knowledge that is shared here.

Mabsy,
I saw the member number 1003 and I was JUST about to post a "1000 Member Threshold!" email and then I thought to myself, "I'm sure my twin has beat me to it" and voila! Here is your post hee hee hee!
EDS is AWESOME!
(Mabsy, you really are my twin!)

Well then how is this for a blast from the past? I was all excited about the forum reaching 1000 members at some stage, and now we're getting close to 11,000!
Yay EDS & contributing EDS members! |

I can't believe how quickly this has happened too - I first found this forum back in 2004, although I lurked around for ages before joining, and it was so much quieter although still a lively place. It's grown so much in just a few short years! |

I've seen this happen on some other IBBs. Hang on tight, cuz the ride is about to get even wilder -- most of it for the good! |

11,000??? That's almost the population of the town I was born and raised in.
Oh my holy freakin' gosh!
I wonder:
-How many of the 11,000 are active posters?
-Who have been around the longest and still post?
-How many people actually stop posting before they hit 50, or how many join and never post at all...
I don't know if anyone can find the answers...but considering we could now populate a small city...it's pretty interesting! |

I guess that makes EDS a virtual city... Our Town! |

11000 members is a huge amount of skincare knowledge. Let's hope we can encourage mass participation. |

I'd love to know the answers to those questions! I'll be here a year next month, and just in that short amount of time it's been fun to see so much growth...

Hi. If you click on the Memberlist tab at the top of this page it lists the members, when they joined and the number of posts they have. Since I am fairly new, I don't have that many posts, but it shows members that joined back in 2002. |

Hi Racecargirl!
Thanks SO much for pointing out this feature! I'm embarrassed to admit I never even thought to look there!
Welcome to the forum!

Thanks. I have been following some of the forums for quite some time. I ended up with a NuFace but I'm still on the fence regarding one of the Quasars. So my credit card isn't enjoying my participation. |

LOL! My credit card isn't happy about my EDS participation, either...
You're so lucky you got the NuFace! Ever since Scalawaggirl posted her pics, I've been wishing one would fall out of the sky and land in my lap...

If I keep reading this forums, I'm going to need a second (maybe a third job). I love the NuFace. It's so convenient. I look forward to more forums and hopfully contributing something meaningful every once in a while. |

That was one of the other things that has me wanting the NuFace...I've heard it only takes something like 4 minutes to do the entire routine! I have a DermalTone (which I like), but I hate that it takes me 20 minutes to do the whole thing...

I agree that getting those statistics would be nice but at the moment there isn't really an easy way to do this other than by looking at the members list. Sorry! |

I went down memory lane just before as I glanced at how many forum members we have by now. I still remember starting this thread and I remember how excited I was when I saw that the forum had hit 1000 members so I just had to go find it, since the number today is ****41,149****!!!! Our virtual city is rapidly growing
Thank you so much everyone for all of your time and contributions, which are what makes this forum great!

I was thinking about exactly that, Fox. I remember doing rounds from church years ago, visiting the "sick and shut-ins," mainly the elderly who couldn't get out for church. And frankly, I suspect a lot of them couldn't have cared less about why we were there, they just liked having some company! But now with the Internet, you can have a virtual community to be a part of without leaving you house. (Or even your bed, if need be.) Seems like a wonderful thing to me... |
