Laser treatment improves the appearance of sun damaged skin by increasing collagen production, according to a new study conducted by scientists in Michigan.
After topical application of 5-aminorulinic acid (5-ALA) that was left on the skin for three hours, 15 adult patients with significant photodamaged skin underwent pulsed dye-laser therapy to the forearm.
The research team noted increase in the levels of a number of molecular markers associated with skin damage and repair following the combination treatment.
Laser treatment was shown to be improved with the application of 5-ALA prior to treatment.

That's awesome! I really wanna know how much it's gonna cost. That's always the deciding factor for me. |

I agree on the price factor. Wouldn't it be nice though to deal with it in one appointment rather than in 3-4? |

Having just finished my recovery from the Active Laser, I can say it was well worth the 1,000 it cost for my undereyes and face. I did ooze and peel for about a week and then had very tender, red skin for over 3 but my skin is tighter, smoother with fewer pores and I am so glad I did it. The doc says I will continue to see the collagen increase for up to a year. |
