A while back I had posted about Rosa y Fruta - and to see if anyone had tried it as I had just ordered samples. At that time, it didn't seem like you guys had been familiar with it. I'm glad to see some posts about it here now, b/c Elizabeth is a doll and has fabulous products.

I have fallen in love with the Ambrosia cream. It's like a little miracle in jar. It firms, tones, moisturizers, evens out, I don't know if its a combo of her fine ingredients - like Argan Oil - but ooh boy, it's wonderful. I have her Nectar which is a twice weekly mini spa treatment - wonderful, and a couple of her other products. You use the teeniest amount and the results are terrific.

Again, it's the girls on the delphi forums who enabled me into trying RYF - and they were 100% correct in their raves. For some reason, it works on all skins!!! At first with the Ambrosia, you might be thinking, "no way, this is too oily" but then all of a sudden it just melds into your skin and you are left with just a beautiful glowing face!!! If you use it at night, your skin feels great in the a.m. If you want a lighter moisturizer then she has Lustre - very nice too, but first choice for me is the Ambrosia.

Yes, the reason behind her little thief section is because there was a case of product plagerizing with the owner of Anna Bellina that Elizabeth now has an attorney working with her to get this resolved. (I learned this from the boards too.) Again, I'm not here to slander anyone, but if you check the delphi boards you will see some not so flattering feedback on the customer service of AB and the eerily similar products that she carries. However, there are lots of raves on AB as well, so to each her own. I'm sticking with RYF.

Enough of my enabling and babbling!!!

Maria,
thanks for the review. Now I really want to try this line even more-- good natural vegan products, good customer service... Sounds perfect! My next product shopping list will be the trial sizes of this line. I especially want to try the Ambrosia. Would you mind describing in depth your skincare routine using this line?
TIA Wink

Hi Thoughtcrime -

I bought pretty much everything from RYF - but here's my skincare regimen Laughing

IN THE A.M.

My face is pretty clean from the night before, so I shower and gently pat my face w/ warm water. This somehow releases the Ambrosia that I put on the night before. When I come out I either spray my face with a Rose Hydrolat (I think Winnie recommended this to me from Naturopathica - It's lovely), or just apply my Skinceuticals C + E, then Alphaderma CE (I only use this around my eyes and on my "11" on my forehead - it doesn't seem to work for me anywhere else), then I apply the teensiest bit of Ambrosia - like the size of a pea - it goes a loooooonnnnng way!) After that I dab on some Mary Kay Timewise Eye Cream, and that's it!

In the P.M.

Spritz face w/a hydrolat or water, then gently clean with Damascena (I'm sure I'm spelling everything wrong here, but you'll know what products I mean if you go to the site). Sometimes I'll use a Ponds makeup remover cloth for eye make up and mascara, then apply my serum - Oil of Olay Regenerist or SkinCeuticals B serum - whatever I'm in the mood for, then just apply the Ambrosia, some lip balm, lash masque, then off to bed - Easy!

Your face feels great in the a.m.

I can't describe the Ambrosia - but can only say it's different than anything I've used. When you feel it, you may think its greasy, but then you put it on and it's not - again, you need so very little. Also, the smell is a strong Rose scent at first, but then goes away and you don't even notice it.

I want to try her Champagne Toner and her Rubinigosa line too. They sound wonderful.

Please let us know if you try it. I'd be anxious to know what you think.

Hi Maria - I'm using the Champagne toner and also have the Rubiginosa oil on hand, although I have yet to use the latter. Elizabeth strongly cautions that this oil can cause acne flare ups. Supposedly it helps fade sun damage/hyperpigmentation spots, which is why I bought it, but I'm definitely going to be sparing with it. The Champagne smells lovely and feels quite nice on the skin as a toner after washing your face. I also purchased a sample of the Ambrosia, which I've only used it around my eyes. You're right-- it feels very emollient (oily) when you apply it, so I've been kind of chicken Crying or Very sad to put it on the rest of my oily-prone skin. I'll give it a go today, though. The Nectar De Rosa Scrub is also quite nice and gentle, although it leaves a bit of a mess in the sink after you wash it off. I'll keep the board posted .

Ooh, Crinklecut, I order the Rub. for my sun damage too!!!! I had emailed Elizabeth on this topic as I've tried everything to no avail (Phyto+, Superskin, Prescriptives, etc., etc.) and I didn't want to go the HQ route if I didn't have to. I even signed up for a series of IPL treatment, but chickened out at the last minute. I'm hoping before i have to spend the $2,000 I was quoted for 5 IPLs and 5 Microderms, that I could go the natural route with the Rub.

Thankfully, I don't have acne prone skin, which is why I'm hopeful that it will help. she also thought Radish Juice applied topically for twenty minutes a day might help as well. I may have to investigate that too. Why not? I've tried every other darn thing. I hate these brown spots b/c truly my skin is in really good shape right now and they just kind of mar it. I know, not life threatening and it sounds kind of vain, but it's like my skin finally got into good shape, and then these spots appeared out of nowhere this summer. Sigh. At least it was diagnosed as sun damage and not melasma which I understand is tougher to get rid of.

Does anyone know how much international postage is? I'd like to try two of the trial sized products (when "Mabsy's month of savings" finishes...).

Mabsy,

Just email Elizabeth and find out for sure. She is very nice and replies to email promptly. I remember someone posted on MMM regarding int'l shipping being very reasonable though.

Mabsy -

You're doing a lot better than I did this month. I was doing so good until Elizabeth at RYF told me about one of her new products that was supposed to help with hyperpigmentation. Rubingosa or something like that. Before I knew what was happening, really - it was all a blur - I ordered it!!! I've tried every other lightening product out there that is non HQ (b/c it scares me) including Phyto +, Superskin, Prescriptives, etc.)none of which worked. Hopefully, this natural remedy can help me!!

Very Happy Maria

Maria,

Have you tried retinol products for your hyperpigmentation?

Oki doki - will send her an email. For the sake of my budget I'll hold off till November because I know that I won't be able to control myself Laughing

Mtview -

I have a derm appointment on Monday and i'm going to ask her about Retinol products. I've heard the one-two punch of a retinol and vitamin c product can help with hyperpigmentation. (I'm already using Skinceuticals C + E) so I'll let you know what she says. I had also scheduled a series of IPL and microderms, but decided to hold off until I got the okay from my derm. It's so expensive ($2,000) and if there is something else I can use, I'd rather do that!

I also ordered the Rubiginosa product from RosayFruta - which contains pure rose hip oil, and hopefully that will help as well. If its like her other products, I'll be a very happy camper. I've fallen in love with them.

Mabsy - will let you know how it goes with the Rub. Also, so sorry to hear about the attack on your face (from another thread!). You never know when your skincare can turn on you!

Posting from work!! Not good!

Wink Maria

Hi Maria,

Definitely ask your derm about retinol products. For the type of hyperpigmentation I have, only laser (not IPL) can get rid of them. Topical medications are not strong enough to penerate the layers of skin. I am too chicken to try the laser in the states. Even my derm hesitates to do the laser. If I am still in Asia, I probably would have had laser years ago.
