Recently Ian at JB sent me a free jar of this product after our discussion of why I haven't really seen results yet from the ADCE. Thank you Ian! I've used it twice so far and after each use, my skin has felt very nice and really absorbed the Prep and ADCE quickly. I still felt a need for moisturizer but after all these years of fairly dry skin, I am hesitant to go without. It goes on like a masque, is very goopy with little particles (crushed almonds, I believe.)The instructions say that it digests dead skin while drying. After it dries, you rub it off with a dry towel. For me, this rubbing part seems a little harsh. With all the talk in an earlier thread about skin thinning as we get older, this was a concern of mine. Normally I treat my skin with a very gentle touch. I'm going to continue to use it once or twice a week and see how it goes (as he sent me a full-size jar.) Its the first exfoliant I've used so I don't have anything to compare it to. I'll keep you posted. |

Wow, sounds like you're describing a Gommage type exfoliant. Me thinks I'm going to have to try this! It sounds very similar to the Phytomer Gommage Marin I've got at the moment and to the YonKa and Decleor Gommage-type products.
Btw, I'm not sure about Ian's particular product but generally you can control how exfoliating these products are by starting to rub them off before they completely dry, or by applying them to a damp face rather than a dry one. |

This product is specially designed to remove dead skin cells while being very gentle. The item hardens into a thin film that begins to DIGEST dead skin cells. Instead of CHEMICAL PEELS use this and see the immediate results SAFELY. The best way to use it is to apply a thin even amount on the areas you want to exfoliate. Once it dries you feel a pulling and tightening, simply use a warm damp cloth or tissue and it comes right off. The best part about this item is you see and feel immediate softness and clarity of the new cells underneath that were being blocked by the dead skin cells. This exfoliant is very special and is a product that no one has been able to duplicate. To get the results of a ACID or CHEMICAL PEEL with a very gentle exfoliant is what the RENEWED RADIANCE EXFOLIANT DOES. We are happy to give out samples of anything someone wants out of all of our At Home Salon Treatments with a purchase of any product on our site janson-beckett.com. We will even ship for FREE with any purchase over $200.00.
Thank you, Ian

That sounds just like the exfoliant/mask I used to get during facials in the Salon I worked in. Now I know the name of it. Thanks |

I'm so glad you told me this...I think you might want to suggest this alternate way in the instructions on the jar...for newbies like me. Being a novice with exfoliants, I wanted to do it "right" and it never occurred to me that there might be a better way, especially for my skin. I'll do it the gentler way tomorrow. Thanks! |

Well, my friends, I have followed the directions given in this thread by Ian and I can tell you with certaintly, it was a very different experience. Taking the dried mixture off my face with a warm damp washcloth was gentle, effective and my face enjoyed it. Afterward, my skin felt great, smooth and silky. All's well, love the stuff and I guess I shouldn't take directions too literally in the future if it doesn't feel good. I'm slow...but I learn! ... ... |

Mabsy,
What is exactly a Gommage type exfoliant? I have never used anything Gommage. Right now I am not using an exfoliant except for (if you would call it an exfoliant) the Dr. H's cleanser after JB Cleansing Milk. I do love the Dr. H's and will forever be greatful for the recommendation. |

Winnie,
I've been told that gommage is a French term for an exfoliating treatment which combines manual exfoliation with (usually) enzyme exfoliation. This would describe treatments that are applied on the skin and given a few minutes to work their magic (either by enzymes or other means) and are then rubbed off thus taking any loosened dead skin cells off with the product that balls-off the skin. Gommage means "rub off" or "erase" in French. |

Merci bien, Mabsy. I had no idea either. Also, forgot to mention that a little goes a long way with the RRE. |
