Hi!
I have been using Advanced Night Repair, the orginal formula, on and off now under my daily moisturizer. I really like it. However, I have also noticed that I seem to break out more when I use it. I've thought maybe it is from the silicon because I know silicones do not agree with my skin but I was reading online tonight that the "Oleth" ingredients might cause people acne. Advanced Night Repair is not supposed to cause acne so it intrigues me if these ingredients actually do.
Has anyone else used it and gotten pimples?
Has anyone else read about the oleth ingredients causing acne?
Thanks! |

Are you talking about Advanced Night Repair by Estee Lauder? I used it years ago, and it's a nice enough serum; I didn't have any pimple issues. |

I have used the Advanced Night Repair and it feels quite nice, and moisturizing. I'm not sure how effective it is. It has not caused me to break out at all but then I have drier skin. I think it has a lot of HA hyaluronic sp? acid in it which moisturizes. |

I've been using ANR for six months now, and I love it. It's caused no breakouts for me which is amazing. I have rosacea with papules and also everything makes it worse. I got it in a free gift and have used it ever since. My skin is smoother and it's helped the redness. |

I think it is a good repair and moisturizing serum, but it does not provide strong anti-aging effect. |

I use this serum under my moisturizer and find it's soothing on my dry skin. Haven't had any pimple issues at all. |

Hi,
Thanks for the replies. Yes, Estee Lauder. The orginal not the newer concentrate.
I can't tell if it is the cause of breakouts or not. I was told a long time ago to dab a little on breakouts that it would help them heal which I was doing.
Then I read that the one ingredient in it is considered pore clogging.
I like it a lot because it does seem to absorb pretty well. I have found that it takes more than a few drops though, to cover my entire face. And the smell, I really like the smell of it because it isn't really srong.
It has won all sorts of awards and I've read it is one of their most popular products.
The silicone in it concerns me only because my skin is so sensitive to everything.
Thanks! |
