Hello everyone,
I've been trying to find a moisturizer that has no actives, preferrably from an organic/natural line, so I can wear over my Retin-A. I know it's not recommended to use a moisturizer over Retin-A but my skin is getting way too dry with it. I can't switch to Renova because it has mineral oil.
I thought about using jojoba oil, but I'm afraid it might just make the retin-a penetrate even more. I also thought about using one of the HA serums like hydra B5 but I've heard you still need to apply some kind of moisturizer when using HA. And of course, the plan is to apply the moisturizer 30-45 mins after applying Retin-A.
I used to have very oily skin but now that I've hit my 30's it's more combination in an extreme way (very oily forehead and nose, very dry cheeks and chin). Any moisturizer recommendations would be greatly appreciated, the more natural/organic, the better!
My current routine:
AM
cleanse with Skin Appetit Nutri-cleanser
alternate between Skinceuticals CF Phloretin or Zia Ultimate C Serum (wait 10-15 mins)
Devita sunscreen
PM
cleanse with Cetaphil
cleanse undereyes with jojoba oil
alternate between Skinceuticals .5 retinol or Retin-A
RoC retinol cream for undereyes
TIA! |

I also use a prescription vitamin a. You can try Cetaphil lotion. It is not organic but it works. Also, check out vitacost.com, they have some organic products with reviews from customers. You can also try to moisturize prior to applying the retin-a. I personally use emu oil. |

I use Garden of Wisdom base cream:

You only need a tiny bit because the cream is quite rich. If you don't like the emu oil, there is also a vegetarian version available. But a lot of people on retin A do use emu oil. It is a good complement to retin A. Helps to counteract the drying effect. |

I like to use Nude replenishing oil or just plain rose hip seed oil. It helps with the dryness and has no junk in it. |

Thank you all for the suggestions! Greatly appreciated. Will look into these oils and see which might be best suited for my skin. |

I would suggest Valmont Nature Moisturising with a Serum. This is purely moisturising without being heavy and is very suited to combination or oily skin. |

Hi!
As long as you use Devita SS, which has HA and Shea Butter, you may be able to just use a HA serum under the SS for moisture. I have done that when I used Devita and it worked wonders! |

You can try 100% Pure Nourishing Oil sold on QVC. The good part is that you can return it if you don't like it. |
