Hi,
I have a question and hope someone will shed light to it.
I started using the Obagi Vitamin C 15% the last couple weeks in the morning, before my sunscreen / moisturizer. It's supposed to be good for the skin, but I noticed that my brown spots (which took me over 4 months to fade) seem to get darker, some are very dark, and my husband made a comment that my skin looks more tan.
I use SkinMedica Retnoid at night.
I am Asian, so my skin is already tan. It's winter in Chicago and there is hardly any sunlight during the day, I am in and out of the car a few times a day, total exposure time is less than 30 minutes a day. But the symptoms are like I am in the sun a lot without protection.
Does anyone know what can possibly cause this? Could Vitamin C serum cause it? It's my prime suspect because it's the new addition to my routine.
Thank you so much. |

That is interesting. I have used Vit C for several months (several different brands, not including Obagi) and have not noted this. I wonder if it is the high percentage? Also are you taking any now medications or contraception perhaps? |

Juliemarie,
I am not on any medication and no birth control pills either. But now you pointed it out, I wonder if it could be the high percentage of Vit C? I get some red blotches also.
Thank you! |
