I'm currently in London and the weather here is horrible. Its cold and sometimes wet, but my face is dry on the surface and oily inside. Its flaking and itching and red. I need a light weight moisturiser. Any recommendations? |

You could go to a d/s there are pick up the Boots moisturizer/serum everyone raves about (renew & protect or something like that).
It's super-cheap there.
If you want something else, here are the best lightweight moisturizers I have used:
Clinique DDMG (the gel formulation, not the cream)
Nuxe Aroma Vaillance
If you happen by a Lush store, you could pick up the moisturizer they make for oilier skin (very lightweight, this is one of the few lush products that are good) OR stop in to a L'occitane boutique and get one of the immortelle moisturizers.
London is such a great city, enjoy!! |

You could try a hyaluronic acid serum under your usual moisturizer. It adds moisture without oil. I apply it when my skin is still damp and it plumps the skin up nicely. I spritz my face during the day with thermal water and it refreshes the plumping action. Some good but reasonably prices HA serums are atwww.gardenofwisdom.com.
La Roche-Posay makes nice moisturizers for oily skin without a lot of chemical fragrance and filler. Effaclar is one I have used that moisturizes well without causing acne flare-ups.
HTH! brrrrrr...cold and wet here too in Illinois. |

LUSH Vanishing cream gets quite good reviews. Easily bought in the UK. It's a very light moisturizer. |

My recommendation is Biotherm Aquasource Non Stop Oligo-Thermal Gel.
i have been using this product for years and i think it's pretty good., you can feel the difference especially in the winter. Moreover, the texture is quite comfortable, since it's gel-based therefore it's not oily at all. very good for dry skin, though it is quickly absorbed,i can still feel smooth and moisturised all day long. |

I recommend you Jurlique Calendula Cream and Lotion, Lotion is a liquid which is a highly concentrated herbal blend, rich in the living energy of calendula, to help soothe and improve the skin status such as redness and oilness , to make it comfort and calmdown and moisturizing .Calendula Cream is relative thick but you can use it just a little amount to keep your skin moistrizing when need .I already recommended to my colleagues and hey all like it as me . |

well ,because u r in uk i would recommend something easy to find there. i am not sure whether u have heared about NYR. this is a pure organic pruduct, i use rose cream and rose oil both. it works with the combination skin well and also lightweight. should be suitable for u . moreover, they are very cheap there. |

I'd recommend Sothys Hydra-Protective Softening Emulsion. I have used it for a few months and my girlfriend has used it for years and it's great for normal to combination skin. My skin is oily and I have used it during winter after I finished with the Immuniscience line from sothys since my skin was so sensitive.
You could probably ask for a sample from this web-site once you order some products and see how you go. I really liked it.
But from what you're saying it sounds like my skin before I started using sothys. I had this horrible dandruff like stuff on my face and I just couldn't get rid of it. My beautician has told me that my skin was very imbalanced and sensitive as a result. In six months I have restored it to be able to go to chemical peels and even though I'm still having trouble with clearing my break outs at least I can use normal products on my skin.
I really love Sothys and would recommend it to anyone. |

I'd recommend (yeah yeah) Dr. Hauschka's moisturizing day creams. I use the Light Rose Day cream, I heard very good reviews about regular day cream etc.
The reason I recommend is because I have a combination skin, and the wonderful thing about Dr. H moisturizers is that having natural ingredients the product actually balances the skin, and overtime it's not so shiny in the forehead area, and not so red on the cheeks.
There is a subtle rose scent in the one I use - so delightful... |

I've been using Caudalie Vinoperfect Day Perfecting Cream SPF15 and I think it, but then again I have fairly dry skin. I bought my bf Kimberly Sayer Ultra Light Facial Moisturizer SPF25 and I use it too sometimes. It's very light, too light for me but perfect for him. Plus it uses organic sunscreen. Both can be bought through EDS. HTH! |

As most posters have mentioned, I agree that you need to avoid using a cream product as it will be too oily for your skin. Either a light lotion or a serum is probably best for you. You'll get the moisturizing that you need plus avoid overburdening your skin.
I agree that an HA serum is a good idea. But you might also try an "early signs serum" with matrixyl and HA for a double benefit. HA will give you a quick moisture boost from the first day you start using it. Matrixyl is a peptide that helps your deep skin cells produce more collagen and HA (within the cell, not on the skin surface), so it takes some time for the effect to be visible, but it is a more long term improvement.
Some brands to consider are Perricone, Serum Logic, and Isomers. Planetskincare.com also has some small brands at cheaper prices.
Good luck and enjoy the fog in London! |
