This is a good idea. Then those who want to chat can easily do so, leaving the forum for more substantive posts with specific information on the pros and cons of particular products. The forum was never really designed for chatting, and chat talk can be annoying when it clogs up the forum lists and creates notification for forumites that a new item has been added to a "watched topic" only to discover that it is nothing but a bit of chat.
I wish you all good luck with setting up a place in which chatting can occur outside the forum. |
