Hi, everyone, Happy 4th to those in the US!
I have recently tried two new lipsticks! A couple weeks ago I bought one of those new Almay "Ideal" lipcolor lipsticks because it was on sale. I bought "pink," and although the matching lipgloss was tempting, I decided to skip it because I already have a ton of gloss. While I really like the color of this one-- sheer, just adds a hint of natural-looking color-- the texture isn't out of this world (kind of dry). I believe they designed it as a layering piece, so when I wear it, I use Blistex berry balm underneath. But the best thing about it is that it has spf 17! It also comes in an interesting tube that has a transparent top. I've been trying to put the darn thing on backwards, though.
The other lipstick was a freebie I got in the mail-- Mark Dew Drenched lipstick in Rain. This one I really like! The color looked way too dark, but when I put it on, it was creamy sheer, and very shiny. The color was bright, but natural (sort of a deep red/berry). It makes my lips look freshenly bitten. The tube is sort of chintzy, though-- very small and made of thin white plastic. But, hey, it was free, so I can't complain about that too much! |

I got the same thing! I must say, I have never really used lipsticks so this was basically a first for me. It is very moisturizing when you put it on and stays that way. It does look quite dark but when you put it on, it turns sheer. However, it was still a bit too pinkishy for my skin I have to put it on and then dab a bit off with a tissue. Thats when it gives me that freshly bitten look . The tube is very small, but I'm very surprised at how much lipstick is in it! I really was expecting much much less. Overall, I think this is a great lipstick. Cant complain either. It was, afterall, a freebie! |
