I have these fine lines along each side of my nose but more prominent on the right. My botox doctor calls them bunny lines.
How do you get rid of them?
I asked the doctor to give me some botox but he said he couldn't use too much in that area. So I still have them. I notice when I laugh my nose crinkles and these lines show up. When I do Ageless exercises, they also show up, so they seem to happen when I move my upper lips up.
I have seen a Japanese lady at work whose bunny lines along side her nose are permanent and deep. I really don't want to have them. Help! |

You might see some results by having a filler, like Juvederm, injected. Your botox doctor should know about it. |

I don't know if the filler will help since the lines are very faint. They mostly show up when I laugh really hard or when I do the Ageless exercise. I often have to hold my nose down, so these lines won't show during the exercise. |

Maybe you should try Retin A or a retinol product. |

Hi Bira -- Didn't the Ageless exercise help with those lines? I always thought that facial exericses help to reduce nasal lines or crow's feet... |

Are you a side sleeper Bira? I think sleeping on my side makes those lines deeper and deeper every night. But I just couldn't train myself to sleep on my back. Looking into get a pillow like "save my face" pillow could help to take the pressure off your side face. |

I have "bunny lines". The only thing that worked for me was Botox. Retin-A might soften them a little but, because they are expression lines, only Botox or fillers will get rid of them. |

I also have "bunny lines". And I use Cellex-C products to resolve them ,but that means nothing to me.Hope somebody can give useful advice. |

I used to twitch my nose like a bunny when I was younger. My friends nanny actually told me I wouldn't get a husband if I continued! (I was 7!)
It's an allergic thing for me. Maybe you too?
My aunts have the line on their nose... |

I don't know if Ageless helps with fine lines. I have not been doing Ageless very long, but I noticed after I did it, my nose/mouth lines got more pronounced. Also, some exercises cause my mouth to move up and my nose wrinkles up causing these lines to show. |

No, I'm actually a back sleeper. These bunny lines come from when I laugh really hard and my upper lip curl up pushing some muscles above it to push into my nose I guess. I'd love to know what muscles are responsible for this. If I'm looking in the mirror and catching it, I will hold down the muscles, so they won't move my nose up and create these fine lines. |

Keli, where did your doctor inject the botox? My doctor said that the areas alongside your nose are very delicate and you have to be careful. |

I don't think mine is an allergy. It seems the muscles are really really strong. They show up when I laugh hard or smile big. I wish I can relax the muscles. Maybe I need to consult another doctor who is more specialized in bunny lines. |

It sounds like it could be kind of endearing
It sounds kind of sweet "little bunny lines".
I guess you could botox but that might be freaky... |

endearing?? NO way, Jose! I don't want any lines on my face for endearing purpose. I'd just as well be endearing and lineless. |

She injected Botox right on either side of the bunny lines which is right across the bridge of my nose. The results are amazing. I hate that horizontal line across the top of my nose. I had no issues and the doctor never mentioned anything to me about it being a delicate area. |

my bunny lines are not horizontal across the bridge of my nose. They are rather vertical and on each side of the nose. Today they look pretty defined. I think doctor will have to inject botox on the muscles above my upper lip to stop them from moving up so much. I don't know!! |

I've always been told the lines on the sides of your nose are the nasal labial lines or nasal labial folds. My doctor refers to the line across the bridge of the nose to be bunny line since it forms by continuous scrunching of the nose kind of like a bunny does. Not many people get bunny lines across the bridge of the nose. You only get them from using certain expressions like scrunching the nose up. I can see why some may refer to the lines your talking about as bunny lines too.
Now I know why you were concerned about getting Botox injections there. Yes, most people use fillers like restalyane for the lines your talking about. Botox would probably cause problems with the movement of your mouth or nose if it was injected there.
For the horizontal bunny line across the bridge of the nose Botox works great. The Bunny line is usually right underneath the "11" lines many ladies get between their brows.
You probably need to get fillers for your lines, not Botox. Botox is used more in between and above the eyes although it is being used on other areas of the face more often now.
Glad we got that cleared up. Now we know what lines we are both reffering to. |

No, not the Nasolabial lines or folds although I have them, too. The Nasolabial lines are from the end of nose to corner of mouth, right? I call them my nose/mouth lines. waaahh
These bunny lines (maybe my doctor is wrong, and they're not called bunny lines at all) are actually on the nose itself, but to the side of it by the cheek. They run vertically for me from bridge down to nostrils. I'm going to check with another doctor to see if there's anyway to botox these things. |

I understand where your talking about now. I agree, that would be an area they would have to be very careful Botoxing. Good luck to you!! I hope they can Botox that area for you with fabulous results!!.
I am so looking forward to the new Botox product coming out later this year, Reloxin. I will be good for us now that Botox has some competition. It will hopefully help drive down the price of Botox and the new Reloxin is suppose to show the effects sooner and last longer than Botox. I can't wait to try it!! |

Now this sounds awesome! I hadn't heard of this at all. I hope it comes to Australia real quick. |

Competition is good. I am paying $8 a unit now, but I saw that a medical professional can buy 100 units for $400, so that's only $4 a unit. Unfortunately I don't have a medical license to take advantage of that price. |

Bira, Bunny lines are typically just below the 11's. But I could see them being called the same thing... even if they are lower than normal.
The muscle that runs up and down the nose is the Procerus. It draws the skin downward from the central part of the forehead and wrinkles the nose.
It sounds like yours is quite strong in the "wrinkling" direction... so, here's a freebie... to counter that I would try this...
Place your 2 fingers on your forehead, say your index and ring finger, while raising your eyebrows, apply resistance to the muscles sliding the 2 fingers down the forehead and alongside the nose... I generally drag my middle finger down the center of the nose... but not intensely (no need to reshape your cartilage) |

Bira, I hear you. I have the same, and my doctor called them bunny lines too. They are from almost inner corner of the eye, going kinda diagonal to the nose bridge. And mine was more pronounced on the left. I had a very big concern about developing them permanently. Well, in my case, it was mostly because of my nose structure, I think, because, since I had that corrected, I do not really have them on my right side at all, but the left side has just a very very slight one when I crinkle my nose. But my left side is stubborn in the nose to mouth area too.
To prevent the bunny lines now, I do one of the occasional "Ageless" exercises. Look into the book section "Occasional Extras" for "Nose wrinkle" exercise. I think it is exactly for this type of lines. Did you try this one? Maybe try it as a routine, as opposed to have it as occasional. |
