Hi,
I tried a face mist this weekend for the first time. I had an make up "makeover" at a local store as a gift, and the one thing that really liked was the primer to fixate the eye makeup all day and night long - if you want to. And a face spray, that this girl sad she used all day long, now and then, with or without makeup on. To give hydration, freshness and just boost the skin during the day.
But, there's a but. I thought it smelled to much of fragrance, and I'm a bit against fragrances facial products. That they can cause stains in the skin, and make the skin more sensitive, especially when exposed to sun.
Anyway, to my question.
Does anyone of you use a face mist?
And could you recommend some?
Or just a waste of money?
I sounded good, if this mist could fixate the makeup, and give hydration when needed without make the face shiny and sabotage the makeup.
If its non alcoholic, no fragrance(just natural) or artificial colour. |

Hi Vanilj,
I love Mac's Fix+, I find it really refreshing. Its ingredients are listed as green tea, camomile and cucumber with a natural scent of sugi. I don't really notice the scent at all. |

I have Caudalie grape water and Avene thermal water, but use them as toner basically. They don't help that much in terms of boosting skin during the day IMHO, especially if you wear makeup. |

I love Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist.
It contains alcohol, but does not bring my skin any irritation. |

I use the Avene thermal water, after I've applied my powder foundation, to take away the powderiness. |

I love the Caudalie Beauty Elixer. I find it is great after I put on my make-up to set it, and as a pick-me-up when needed during the day. I find t hydrating as well. |

Got some more questions - whats the difference between a face mist and some "regular" face water, applied with a cotton pad?
Is it in fact the same thing - just different applications?
Does the face mists have a "primer" function to it, for the make up - that regular facewater don't have? |

And you use it even when you have full make-up on? |

Caud. grape water is nice It makes such a difference just misting your face with bottled water! I was skeptical but for example NaturDerm, they always recommend you mist your face with bottled water, so I tried it and haven't stopped! |

Buy yourself floral waters - rose water, lavender water, ylang-ylang - and use that as a mist -
it's the cleanest product you can get |

You are crazy to pay such high price for a hydrosol - otherwise known as floral water - 2fl oz for $29?!?!?
That would be simply paying for someone's marketing/label
That's a ripoff
I can get it for $15/Liter |

Just a comment to pay attention to essential oil in water.
Essential oils are not soluble in water. This mean that pure essential oil can be misted on the skin.
If you want to make such home mix you need product like solubol (natural product from by example Aroma Zone France) |

I was using a mineral water spray last summer to cool down. An Avene product.
Just purchased Jane Iredale's "POMMIST". A pomegranate facial spray. It had a good anti aging review from Paula Begoun.
I also just purchased "Rose Garden Facial Mist" Moisturizing. fromwww.pureanada.ca. I may also try the Green Meadow Mist. Supposed to be soothing. (Neroli I think) Price wise the PureAnada's was 12.50 Canadian. Jane Iredale 22.00. |

The Caudalie Beauty elixir smells amazing but it broke me out, so I wouldn't recommend that. I really want to try Evian's mist water. |

Thanks for all the suggestions.
But, if I just use plain bottle water or rosewater, can I use it over my makeup?
I have oily skin, would it make my skin shiny? |

Total nonsense - you don't need to add any solubol to hydrosols. If you add essential oils to water - yeah you need to shake it every time you use it. Hydrosols is a second product in distilling essential oils, and requires no shaking or solubilizers. |
