I am looking into buying a dry brush for my skin.
Where did you buy your dry brush and which kind do you use?
How often do you use it? |

I bought my brush in a local health food store. The most important is to find a brush with natural bristles that is pretty stiff. I dry brush every day or every other day. I believe one should dry brush twice a week as a minimum, and preferably more often. |

Hi, canadagal.
I think most body brushes can be used both for dry and wet brushing. I bought mine in a health food store, but the most important is to find one with natural bristles. I prefer a handheld brush without a long handle, but that was not too easy to find online. It seems like most of the natural body brushes are made in England or Germany. Here are some suggestions:

Canadagal,
Have you been dry brushing? If so, what are your results? |

Does one dry brush before or after showering? Does it matter? Thanks! |

I dry brush before the shower for 5 minutes and it feels gooooooooood ... You should be relaxed and take your time. Start up from your legs in an upward motion and then your hands and your abdomen and body in a circular motion. Enjoy dry brushing! |

I just started dry brushing and noticed that the first week....I have started breaking out in little rashes on my arms and a few breakout on my back. Is this normal? I wasn't brushing too hard and I have a natural bristle brush. So I didn't do it this week, because I didn't want to break out again. I read somewhere that this is because the "toxins" being released from your pores. Any advice? |

I've read a lot about dry brushing and have tried it off and on but never stuck to it. Maybe I'll give it another go after reading this link. I purchased a brush at whole foods for about $5 with natural bristles and a long handle. Maybe a paddle type brush would work better? Really interesting process and don't think I've heard anything negative about it. |

Can I use my shower brush as a dry brush? Will dry brushing help lose weight? |

It feels so goood. Start with your feet, give your soles a nice scrub and do some circular motions up your legs to get the circulation going. I used to do this to keep my legs smooth. I'm glad you reminded me! |

If you dry brush very, very rigorously for 4 hours straight, without eating, you might lose a little weight.

Well I followed the tip from someone out in googleland, because I was impatient to find a face brush... a $5 shoe brush works well. For those that want something a little stronger than a baby bush. |

I just started dry brushing with a natural brush. I was wondering if it is ok to then use my $ store loofah (probably nylon or plastic) in the shower as I usually do to soap myself up?
I did it this morning and my skin was a tiny bit tender and didnt know if this cheap fabric was doing my skin harm.
Thanks for any info... |
