Hi all,
I was wondering if any of you have had hair extensions or know someone who has. I 'm thinking about getting them - I thought short hair would be easier for me to manage, but actually miss the wearing it in different styles (and I really don't think it suits me).

Hi Collette:
I can't say I have but I see hair extensions advertized here in the States on channel like QVC and Home Shopping Network. The extensions look so real and easy to put on. The price seems reasonable too. Give it a try! I'm pretty sure these companies have a money back quarantee.
P.s. You're hair will grow back, don't worry. I'm sure you look very pretty. |

Collette,
Around how much are hair extensions (if you don't mind me asking)?
And I know what you mean, too. I've had long hair most of my life and have recently cut it really short thinking it would be much easier to maintain. In all honesty, I do like it the way it is but I find that it's very limiting in terms of styles and that it's actually MORE maintenance for me than long hair was. All the "jooge"ing (does anybody watch Queer Eye...? ) takes time!!!

Mabsy,
I totally agree I thought it would be so easy to have shorter hair but it takes so long to get it right. Ive got a style similar to Halle Berry before she grew it. So it's has some lenght to get that curl up around the neck, its around neck length. The consultant told me that due to the hair being short synthetic hair is the best, they braid it in. I need a 3/4 head, the cost for me is around $700 (Im in NSW) so it should be around the same in Brisbane. The price list I was shown was from $600 to $1200 depending on what you want. You can go double the lenghth of your original hair, I should be able to go to my bra line. I was told to try and grow my hair anither 1-2cm to ensure the braids don't show. Im planning on getting it done hopefully in about six weeks time.

Hi Mabsy,
With hair products I"m a bit like you are with skincare. I tend to try different products. Currently I'm using fudge shampoo and conditioner, as well as their leave in conditioner. As a volumniser Im using a really good Dfine product for fine hair, it helps get that lift without looking like an 80's ringin.

Heh, yeah I'm like that with haircare too
Thanks for the tip on Dfine, must look for that one. I'm still on a search for a nice volumising product that doesn't turn my fine hair into fluff.... |

Hello Collette :
How would you care for the braided areas? Is all of the areas braided so you have braids all of the time or just where they attach the extensions? This is fascinating to me and trying to picture how it would look after spending so much money. Either way, I'm sure it will be very nice. |

Hi Fantasia,
I have been waiting for my hair to grow a bit - how come it never seems to grow when you want it to!. I'm planning on making an appointment tomorrow to have it done about two weeks time. So I'll let you know how I go.
The braids are just where the hair is attached. I'm told and saw some photos of the extensions and even with the hair up in a ponytail you can't see the joined hair.

:D I have hari extensions which are remarkable. They are called Great Lengths, There is a website. Jennifer Aniston, Halle Berry, Paris Hilton, Drew Barrymore and many othere celebrities use them. There is a website that you can go to. They are a bit pricey though. $700 Cdn. You must make sure as well, that you go to a salon where they are trained by the Great Lengths people. I went to a salon initally where the girl did not know how to do them. Of course, I had nothing to base what she was doing on. They kept coming out. Finally I got in touch with the distributer of them and went to a new salon. The stylist could not believe the bad job that the other stylist had done. Now, none have come out at all. No one knows that it is not my hair. By the way, I had short and very thin hair. A good stylist, such as the new one I have now can make them look like your real hair. The extensions are real hair by the way. |

Has anyone used those microfiber products that are supposed to bind with your real hair and make it fuller? Seems like an interesting idea but it could also be awful. BROWN DANDRUFF |

Hello,
Does anyone know where you can buy Great Lengths hair extensions at a better rate then from the actual stylist?? I just find they raise the price so much, i just want to buy the bundles.
Any help is muchly appreciated! |

You cannot buy great lengths UNLESS you were a great lengths specialist (did the training and all). |
