Hello all,
I have been here for a little while just reading posts, this is the first one I have sent though.
I have, since I was a small child suffered from masses (and I mean masses)of freckles on my arms, back, and chest. I did have them on my face as a kid but they have lightened over the years and are now gone.
I am now 32 years old, and have spent much of my summer months covered due to basically being too embassesed due to the freckles.
Last month, I went to a Skin specialist who preformed a 15% TCA peel first up, and did my whole back, shoulders and upper arms. Very sore and uncomfortable to have all this done in one hit. About 5 days later, it began to peel a little, but the freckles remained. (I was so hopeful as well!!!...sigh).
A week ago I had my follow up appointment and he was amazed that it did not work, said something about very tough skin...
Anyway, last friday (3 days ago) we repeated the procedure with TCA 35% and boy it hurt!! I had my shoulders and back and upper arms done, it stung really badly. It is now very tight and reddy/brown in color, and the freckles are very very dark. I am anxoius to begin peeling in a few days to see what happens.
The specialist took before pics which I will ask for next time I see him ( 3 weeks) so maybe I can post the before and after shots to see if there is a difference.
Just wondering if anyone lese there has had this sort of procedure and what results they may have had? I am still a bit sore when I try and sleep (kinda like a mild sunburn).
Well, I will keep you updated, all going well I will be back in to have my chest done, not looking forward to that!

No experience of that Keith, and I have to say that if guapaboy did anything like that to his body, I'd be really angry! Freckles are part of you, you were born with them and I can't see how you are gonna get rid of them for good and you may make your skin worse trying. As long as your skin is clean, healthy and nourished, it is beautiful, whatever colouring it has.

Keith,
I totally agree with guapagirl. The freckles are just one of the things that makes you distinctly you. Did someone give you a hard time about them when you were younger? I'd spend my $$ on something you enjoy instead of this painful procedure. Take care of yourself. |

Haven't got any advice for you Keith but just joining in to say that I hope you haven't done this as a result of nasty comments made by others regarding your appearance. If it's just something that you felt like doing for yourself, then that's your decision.
My boyfriend is covered in freckles. He has them everywhere, and I mean ALL over his body. The only place that he doesn't have them is his face, although in the summer they faintly show up on his forehead.
I think it's cute. I like his freckly bum!
I do worry about the damage that must have been done to his skin though. |

Hi! I am just curious, but are the peels intended to permanently remove the freckles from your skin? Is is a case where you will have to be diligent about sunscreen during sun exposure in order to avoid the freckles from returning?
