Well so far I have to say I love it!!!!! It truly does leave your skin feeling like silk. I can't stop touching my face. I usually have oily skin and it has not been oily since I've put it on. My only concern is that in the ingredients that someone posted a while ago it does contain alchohol; I smell just the tiny tiny bit of it when I apply. The bottle is in japaneese so I can not list the ingredients. I'm not sure if it's the 'bad' alcohol or not.

| Glad you like it too Bongo's mom! I've been using it for over a month now and love it. I find it to be a great primer as well. I was afraid it would be drying on me but so far it hasn't been at all. |

| This sunscreen has been on my list of things to try for a while now. Do you know what the percentage of zinc oxide is? From the way it is listed I would say that it is the "bad" kind of alcohol. But I think that this type of alcohol is only bad in the sense that it can overdry the skin. I cannot use products with too much alcohol but judging from where it is on the ingredient list IMO it shouldn't be a problem. |

| TheresaL - I have normal to dry skin and this hasn't been a problem for me. Just use a moisturizer before it and you should be fine. |

| Lucinda--I actually have the Nuance up and not the Lucent Up. Nuance up is the tinted version, a really nice pinkish beige out of the bottle. HTH |

I have to chime in....I ABSOLUTELY LOOOOOOOVE how Nuance Up evens my skin tone.  I love it so much that I cannot spare a day to try the new Sunkiller Clearwater.  |

Is the pinkish/beige shade of the nuance natural looking?
Lucent, though it states it is 100% clear, it is about 90% clear. It does leave A very very light whitish tone on face, it may not be noticable to others, but you'll notice it. |

I have been using this too, but have mixed feelings about it. It does dry matte, and my mineral foundation goes on nicely...looks great throughout the day. My problem is that I have a hard time washing it off in the evening. The silicones in the product make it really waterproof and it doesn't want to respond to soap. What seems to help a bit is dabbing the skin with oil, and then washing it off with soap (but my sking doesn't like oil, so I would rather not have to use it). Anybody have any suggestions?
Also, anyone know how good of a UVA blocker this is? |

the pinkish beige is very natural looking on me actually. i was worried before purchasing this that the color would be a problem but CK informed me that it was fine on her--she has medium asian tone skin and i am a bit lighter and we both seem to find it natural looking. there was a thread a little earlier on this sunscreen here:

Rogneda--i always remove all my sunscreens with an oil cleanser first then follow up with a regular cleanser because most of them are labeled waterproof. i think this is the best way to prevent any residue which can lead to breakouts.
as for the UVA factor, japanese sunscreen in general, aren't as high in protection as european ones. there was a whole discussion on this earlier and i quote from another forum regarding the UVA rating:

My skin does look a tiny bit lighter and brighter with Nuance Up on but it is so natural looking. I think it goes well with different skin colours. |

I'm currently using Cellcosmet Purifying Gel to remove this sunscreen and it does a great job.  |

you know what me too! i keep using the clearwater for my chest and neck and apply the sofina on my face. when the sunkiller skintone milk arrives, it might replace the sofina but it'll be tough to beat for sure. i am so addicted to the glow and slight coverage of nuance up! |

Hi Rogneda--
Your welcome of course . i too, was upset about the UVA rating but i either read somewhere or made it up in mind, that i think european sunscreens tend to be higher in UVA protection because they spend more time in the sun/beaches. asians in asia don't seem to do that as much, so maybe that's why their rating is lower maybe? i thought about trying anthelios as recommended by some ladies here, but i don't think i can deal with greasiness everyday. plus, i really don't spend any time in the sun except when driving to school, and even then my face is hardly ever in direct sunlight. i am just too in love with the texture of sofina to let it go for a european brand.  |

This is exactly like me (I am never really in the sun), except that I have tried European sunscreens, but just cannot deal with the greasiness of them! I am so in love with Sofina... I figure that with my C serum and anti-oxidant serum underneath, the UVA protection is higher anyway. |

When I went to France recently I was amazed by the number of people sunbaking.
I wanted to ruash up to them and ask if they had heard of skin cancers or wrinkling skin.

Hi Skincareaddicted -  .
I think if those women saw a picture of a person with damaged skin they would stop.
Apart from the damage they were doing to themselves it was extremely unpleasnat sunbaking all day in the boiling heat.
I attracted a few funny looks on the beach as I had on my wide rimmed hat - I always wear that), my long sleeved cotton white shirt and a towel over my legs.
Normally in Australia we sit under an umbrella on the beach.
I do go in the water and I'm not totally paranoid - I just slap on plenty of SS and then don't hang around in the sun getting dry. |

| I got my Sophina Nuance & now know why all of you have been raving! Every year I give my "favorites" to my sisters and Mum for Christmas & have just added this! I'm not going to be the shiney one in all the pictures anymore. Thanks to all of you for the recommendation. |
