Yes, I am a real person! I will have my boss post a picture of myself with this post. I am the blonde on the right, and the picture is from Saturday night's Van Halen concert (Vancouver). Note: the other person is a long-time friend of mine, and Eddie Van Halen is "in-between" us
Note: Eddie did not have his body-waxing done at Essential Day Spa

Uh ... no, our aestheticians do not do that service here in the spa.
Yes, I am old enough to be a Van Halen fan! I'll be 30 tomorrow, and have been a fan since I was about eight years of age! My friend in the photo (Dawn) and I shared the same, hard-rockin' babysitter as kids. Barb Jessome was our sitter's name, and she kept us in awe, with her tales of teen parties, music, dance lessons (learning M.J.'s "Thriller" was cool), etc. She listened to: Van Halen, Motely Crue, Nazareth, Def Leppard, and a host of others. In fact, I even BORROWED her Van Halen "1984" tape from her, and remember when the album was banned in U.K., due to the blasphemous image of the smoking cherub on the cover! (good memory, eh?)
Hence: have loved Van Halen for more than half my life! Something that I grew-up on!
I actually fastened a 20 year-old Duran Duran button to my winter jacket last week. I've had it since 1984. I still have all of my OLD tapes, including the very first one from 1981 (self-titled), and other things like Depeche Mode. What can I say, other than that I was a precotious kid?! |

OMG you look so young and clear skinned. you also look like you were having a fantastic time. . If all the gals on here look as young and gorgeous as you, I will never ever ever in a billion years be posting a picture of myself. I know Winnie & Strawberry look fantastic and beautiful neither of them need any of this gunk we buy.

Yes, we definitely had a blast! I also might add that my ear-drums were blasted, but for all of that amazing music, the excitement, and thrill ... every hearing-aid battery that I will have to buy in the future was oh-so-worth-it `Hard to believe that it was almost a week ago, and I am still on Cloud 9!
Note: yes, I do look like I have clear skin, but trust me, ladies, I wake-up with the occasional "Mt. Vesuvius" on my face too. Sometimes, I just roll out of bed, looking like someone smacked me over the head with an Ugly Stick. |

Please note: I didn't look so "gorgeous or young" upon waking, Saturday afternoon. Had a [/i]little too much wine before heading out for my birthday dinner at 8:00. Slipped in tub, cut wrist on stainless-steel soap-dish (oh, duh!), bled all over place, cried, and then had to put make-up on, trying to look relatively okay. Friends bought me three martinis with dinner ... I was a write-off. In bed by midnight, and dead until following afternoon. Woke-up, feeling as though someone had stuffed a stinky, dirty sock in my mouth (and possibly having had marinated it in cold, left-over hot dog water). Pastey, pastey, pastey! Having also had garlic mashed potatoes with my meal, my breath reeked, and even Casper recoiled, afraid of her stank-breath mother! |

Mabsy: I love that movie too and watch it all the time with my granddaughter. And like Winnie said, you should put your picture up.
Caspers Mum: You look much younger than 30 and you have gorgeous skin! You'll have to post your regimen sometime. |

I don't have the excuse of watching it with any children - all I can say is that I'm childish |

Oy-vey! Really & truly, though I have good skin days and bad skin days, I would really like to highlight that I do little to my skin. In fact, I would be down-right embarassed to admit what I do/do not use on my face! I am lucky that I am able to take samples (on occasion) from the spa. I am VERY lazy and perhaps foolish, because I wash my face with a Dove bar. I like Special Cleansing Gel from Dermalogica. I have some other areas which my money needs spending at present time, however. Samples: I often use Kinerase Lotion.
Due to the flash bounce-back in the photo, I think that my skin is made to look more "flawless" by the lighting. I have on a bit of sheer foundation and powder to set it. Other eye make-up as well, of course. Thank you for your kind words. |

Awesome pic CM. What on earth did Eddie do to his hair?
I saw the boys waaaaayyyy back in the days of David Lee Roth - it was incredible. Never saw them in the days of Sammy, and certainly didn't see them when they had Gary Cherone on lead for a spell, although I DID see Gary Cherone when he was in Extreme!! (Remember "More Than Words?") I worked with the dad of the drummer in Extreme and he got us front row seats and backstage passes to meet them!!! Ah, to be young and buzzed again!!! LOL.
Now at 40, I listen to Yanni. KIDDING!!! Still love the stuff of today - just a little more mellow is all!

Mister Edward Van Halen has shaved the sides of his head, though when I went to the concert a couple of weeks ago, it looked like there was some grey stubble growing-in. He did let it down at the beginning and the end of the show, which is a much better look. I reckon that he has shaved the sides for a couple of reasons: too much grey coming-in, likes to wear his hair up while in concert to keep cool, and not have sweat soaking his hair. Dunno.
I am still having to ask people to repeat themselves when they speak to me. Hearing is shot. Oh-well!
David Lee Roth: like old Van Halen too, but have you seen what the man looks like lately? Kind of like a burned-out Wayne Newton, wearing a blonde fright wig & spandex. Has not aged gracefully, I'm afraid. His nasal-labial fold(s) remind me of Winston Churchill! |
