Hi Belle, but you got out and are now living in Canada. lucky you.
Hi Gucci we have been looking about moving to Spain, but there is always so much to consider. Are you going to keep a place here just in case. If you don't mind me asking. |

Oh yeah, definately keep a place here (just in case)!!
Best thing to do is buy off plan in Spain before any work is started, thats how to get the cheapest price. Everytime a phase is finished the price goes up. When the showhouse is ready the price goes up again. Most people buy like this then sell just before they are ready, you can make a good £70,000 profit.
As non residents you have to put down 30 to 35% of the price of the property cash. If you buy off plan you'd probably get 2 to 3 years to do this. Normally somrthing like £1,000 a month.
When ours was finished it had gone up in value by £88,000, not bad profit for 2 years..
If it doesn't work out in Spain you can always rent your property to friends and family.. |

Born in Rome, Italy, then bounced around North America like a basketball:
• Dallas, TX, USA
• Los Angeles, CA, USA
• Austin, TX, USA
• San Francisco, CA, USA
• Austin, TX, USA
• Detroit, MI, USA
• Austin, TX, USA
• Toronto, Ontario, CAN
• Austin, TX, USA
• Atlanta, GA, USA
• Austin, TX, USA
• Edmonton, Alberta, CAN
• Austin, TX, USA
• Pittsburgh, PA, USA
• Austin, TX, USA
Gosh, can you guess which one of these places that I call home?! And if that wasn't bad enough, my mom had this "mental disorder" (I can't think of any other way to describe it!!) that meant that she was psychologically incapable of staying in any one place for more than six months, so even when we were living in Austin, she would move us to a different apartment at least twice a year. It drove me nuckin' futs!! Finally it got to the point where my mom wasn't financially able to support her little "habit" of moving to a new place every few months, but she sublimated the urge by rearranging the furniture in the house (or recataloguing the kitchen cabinets) every couple months instead. I'd go to school in the morning and when I'd come home everything would be different or I'd never be able to locate anything I needed when I tried to cook a meal in the kitchen!!! My mother's affliction is so bad that she will come over to MY house when I'm at work, and rearrange MY furniture. I'm not kidding. Finally, she and I had a little come-to-Jesus meeting and I ended up having to take the spare house key away from her to keep her out of my place. To this day, I absolutely cannot stand to relocate. I've finally managed to plant some roots so by God, I'm not budging!!!
Okay, y'all -- try to top that one!!

Are you SURE you don't have an accent? I always believed I was accent-free, too (I live in Austin), but when I lived up north, they'd tell me I sound like a Southener and when I'm in Texas, they tell me I talk like a Yankee. But I swear, I don't hear an accent when I'm speaking, and I know my accent isn't as pronounced as someone, say, from east Texas....and, yes, Austin is my fave Texas city, too -- I wouldn't think of living anywhere else, not least of which because I don't want to pack up and move! So I guess this means you're going to be a freshman at UT? |

Yeah I am (about UT). Have a cousin who is an Aggie...let's see how fun family get togethers will be lol!
When talking to pople from out of state, they are always suprised when I say I'm from Texas. They tell me I don't have an accent. I think I can have one if I'm in the right mindset...and saying "y'all" and "fixin' to" doesn't help. Then again, I've never met anyone from my town (natively) with an accent either.
And people from East Texas, as kind as they are, have the worst accents ever. Some kind of melding of Texan and hick and southern. |
