This is obviously such a typical issue...i'm totally aware. And i don't really have it terrible...but I just wish i didn't feel this way. It's actually RUINING how i live, and feel. I am 5'2", 128lbs.... with waist that is 28 and hips are 38. I work out 5 days a week but i obviously don't eat good enough. I eat too much and too much crap!! Ugh!!!

I know what is right... eating more salads, alright done. What about protein shakes, and maybe smoothies instead of a chocolate bar? Is it really that complicated? Obviously it is because i can't stop being lazy about it. I feel like i already barely have time during the day to get HALF the stuff i need to do. It's very frustrating...

I just had to vent. I was wanting to try to get into maxim magazine, but with my body..they'd definitely laugh in my face! Most those chicks are a size 0!! GRRRRRR I know, i need to grow up.

Come and join us on the weightloss thread! You might definitely benefit from some of the programs we have been talking about lately.

I know exactly how you feel...I have avoided dating for years because I am overweight...very depressing! But just the cran-water alone that I started has a made a HUGE difference for me...I lost 4.5 pounds overnight of water that I was storing for some reason (most likely due to candida and being hypothyroid). I never would have though that was possible!

The key is finding a program that works for YOU....I personally like relying on a greens/protein drink for at least one meal per day because I am too lazy too cook. Plus it's easy to travel with and you can take it anywhere.

It also helps to monitor your progress in a couple of ways...I monitor my weight and my inches lost to help keep me motivated even when my weightloss stalls.

And a couple of "deviations from plan" are not a bad thing...provided that they do to take place too often. But if you are deviating a lot, then you might just not be interested enough at that point to focus on losing weight. (but then you can't complain or beat yourself up)

Lastly, you can't compare yourself to the airbrushed, photoshopped women in mags...you have to find a way to be the most beautiful that YOU can be. And for many of us, a size 0 would NOT be attractive! I am 5'3" and at size 2 I looked HORRID...a 4/6 is optimal for me (as validated by ex-BF's, lol)

What is this cran water thing you mentioned? I noticed your weightloss thread..that might take me a week to read through LOL. It's huge!!!

I am definitely interested in losing the weight, but i have multiple personalities about it. Sometimes i'll feel good about myself and just think what the hell lets eat popcorn at the theatre.

And then i have my bf who is a TERRIBLE influence. He never wants to help with this. It makes it almost impossible!

Sighs.... i gotta figure something out soon. I am planning on becoming a personal trainer, and the last thing i need is extra fat!

I read the Fat Flush plan and the Fat Flush Fast Track Detox plan and they talked about the need to flush out "fake fat" (aka water weight), as well as focusing on the liver which helps process body fat right out of the body (which I didn't realize).

This is the protocol I am following, though the regular Fat Flush book has you basically eating this way for 2 weeks, without the one day fast (but the link is an excellent overview). After 2 weeks you can add in a more carbs.
http://www.experiencelifemag.com/issues/may-2005/healthy-eating/fast-track-liver-detox.html

The only things I really added from a supplement standpoint was the black current oil (I found that the cran-water made my skin dry without it) and a supplement called LiverCare by Himalaya because I take a lot of Rx meds.

If you do anything, add the cran-water...you just add 4 oz of unsweetened, pure cranberry juice to 28 oz of filtered water. You can then drink 32 to 64oz a day.

You might want to look at Tosca Reno's clean eating program as well.

Coffee (cold) enemas are great for detoxing the liver too.

http://curezone.com/art/read.asp?ID=28&db=5&C0=818

The Coffee Enema for Liver Detoxification

The coffee enema has been used for many years to detoxify the liver. It is a low-volume enema that remains only in the sigmoid colon. There is a duct between the sigmoid colon and the liver called the entero-hepatic circulation system. When the stool reaches this point, it contains many toxins, which are sent to the liver for detoxification. The coffee enema will increase the transit time in the bowel. The caffeine that is absorbed into the entero-hepatic system causes the liver ducts, including the bile ducts, to empty into the sigmoid colon and be eliminated. Releasing the toxins in the liver ducts, makes room for toxins from the body to enter the liver for detoxification. The alkaloids in the caffeine stimulate the production of glutathione-S-transferase, which is an enzyme that facilitates the liver detoxification pathways.

Coffee enemas will not waste minerals and electrolytes because they have already been absorbed in the previous sections of the intestines. The coffee enema is safe even for people who are sensitive to caffeine because the coffee remains in the sigmoid colon, where it will not be absorbed, provided the proper amount is used and the enema bag is not place too high.

Dr. Bob Marshall recommends these. If likes them, I'm OK with them. Also, my skin looks really good after one.

I think I know what you mean. I am a similar size to you. I found it helped to really want my goal in an unconflicted way or less so, so I don't sabotage myself. I also found the weight loss thread to be very helpful but it is long...maybe time for a subcategory? good luck.

I'd be so happy to be 128lbs! This evening I was watching a show featuring plus size women and one of them was my height and 10lbs heavier than me.... all I could think of was, "Do I look like that?" I feel bad being judgemental like that. I ate good all day until my husband suggested Indian food for dinner (naan is my downfall). So now I have a renewed determination to get my weight back down. I'm searching for Bethany's cranberry juice to start adding to my water and I'm going to (slowly) read my way through the weightloss thread for support and motivation.

I guess it's all in perspective though. I'm not that heavy and I'm sure plenty of women would be happy to be where I am, just like I'd kill to be where luckylady and cortigirl are! Wink
