Well I'm not sure if there is already a proper review on this product, but I couldn't actually find one.
But anyway I got this with my most recent order, & I it already! It's not actually yellow like in the picture, but a creamy white colour & has quite a thick consistency (I thought it would be runny actually) so it does require a bit of effort to squeeze out of the tube But as soon as you apply it, it almost melts onto your lips & gets absorbed very quickly leaving your lips super soft & smooth, with a slight sheen. I didn't find it sticky or gluggy at all, just really smooth.
The only problem is that it smells & tastes soooo good I am constantly finding myself licking my lips simply because of the sweet citrus flavour, & therefore I have to keep re-applying it every so often Also it terms of the "plumping" effects I haven't really noticed anything, it's only been 2 days but my lips do look a lot more hydrated |

I LOVE this product!! I had to stop using it because I can no longer use products that contain "maxi-lip" (waaaah!!!!), but while I was using it it was pure heaven. It has this nice glossy texture and sheen, but it was miraculously not sticky at all! My long hair didn't even get stuck in it! And the scent/flavor... like orange honey!! |

when i was in las vegas for a trade show, this was the product the MUA pointed out for dry lips. it's a big shop with lots of lip treatments, most of them costing a lot more $$$, yet this was the one she recommended. she said it saved her lips when she moved there and you could tell she clearly loved it.
i bought it, not really expecting much, but i've grown quite fond of it. i don't really think it does much in the plump area, but it's become part of my morning routine. i use it before my makeup and it keeps my lips pretty hydrated all day, no mean feat. another thumbs up! |

May I ask why not? Do you react to it or something? I'm curious because I'm fooling around with creating my own lip plumper using MaxiLip that I ordered from the Personal Formulators.... |

Hi Carekate! Well, it's actually a puzzle I'm still trying to solve. I recently (within the past few months) developed a really distressing lip sensitivity where I will develop a scaly patch on my lips if I use certain products, and I found that peptides (like the stuff in maxi-lip) seem to exacerbate my problem. I'm headed back to the dermatologist next week tho, so I'm hoping I can get a better handle on what might be causing my irritation/sensitivity and how I can keep it at bay, so I'll keep you guys updated! In the meantime, however, I'm playing it safe and keeping away from lip stuff with peptides, glycolic acid, etc. (grumble grumble...)
By the way, if any one has experienced something like this before, feel free to weigh in! I had eczema on my foot when I was a child, but I don't think this is eczema as it doesn't it at all, it just feels extrememly tight and scaly. When it first cropped up I suspected it could even be cancer, but my derm said it isnt. |

Sorry, I can’t be of any help there. The mouth issues I get are blisters/cracks at the corners of my mouth that take forever to heal which I’ve since discovered is actually caused by EXTREMELY dry skin – click here if you want to read about my odyssey of discovery: http://www.essentialdayspa.com/forum/viewthread.php?tid=6986&highlight=blisters+cracks
Good luck figuring yours out and I’m glad to hear it isn’t melanoma!
Oh, wait, I have thought of something: do you exfoliate your lips regularly? Does the ezcema-like stuff get sloughed off or does it remain even after you exfoliate? If you aren’t exfoliating, then I recommend trying it to see if it will help. You can use a soft-bristled toothbrush and a bit of lip balm and gently brush it over your lips or make a homemade lip scrub like the one I posted in the DIY thread.
If nothing else, one should *always* exfoliate one’s lips regularly to ensure you achieve optimal results with a topical lip plumper because if one has a build up of dead/dry/flaky skin on one’s lips then the lip plumper isn’t going to penetrate the lip tissue evenly which could result in non-uniform (is that the right phrase?!) results.
BTW, I’m taking a trip to my Sephora this afternoon to get that Guerlain lip primer stuff so I’ll have to take a detour past the Juice Beauty display to check this plumper out...if I’m lucky, I might be able to score a sample from my fave SA if she’s working today! |

I looooove this lip plumper too. It definitely doesn't make your lips " bee-stung " but I would maybe use the term " biteable. " It imparts the most perfect satiny shine to your lips - not over the top glossy and it's CRAZY how it's not sticky at all. I am so A.D.D when it comes to lip gloss, I rarely buy the same kind twice, but this one I definitely will buy another tube. |

I got a sample of it when I was at Sephora last week, but I really wasn’t impressed with it in terms of its plumping ability. I like the flavor and scent of it and it makes a lovely, no frills lip balm but I didn’t experience any plumping whatsoever. Maybe my research/quest for the greatest lip plumper has made me cynical or jaded, but I’ve gotten to the point where I think the power of suggestion has a lot to do with whether or not you experience – or think you are experiencing – any lip plumpness for these products. I think if you go into with a positive/optimistic outlook, your eyes will let you see some sort of plumpness when you look in the mirror but if you use it not believing that it’ll work, then you won’t see anything.... |

i think you'll see that, for the most part, *no*one saw any plumping effect from this one. it is a truly nice balm, though. the lotiony formula allows it to sink in way quicker than the average 'balm' which gives quick hydration to thirsty lips.... your cynical attitude has nothing to do with it -- this ain't a lip plumper. anybody buying it as such will be sorely disappointed. as a nice light moisturiser that works instantly though, it's divine. |

I agree totally! In fact, I think I might actually by myself a tube next time I'm in Sephora.... |

UPDATE: While I still think Juice Beauty had no business calling this product a lip plumper, I *do* love it as a light, non-greasy lip balm with the lotiony texture that absorbs quickly that Cam described above and I did end up picking up a full-size tube for myself during my last visit to Sephora. I reach for this Juice lip BALM at night or at times when I need a bit of moisture on my lips but don't want to bother with one of my beloved Prada tinted lip balms because I don't need that little touch of color.... |

I'm using a skin treatment for acne that is highly drying, and this lip treatment is the best for my extremely chapped lips. It's also a bonus that (most or all of?) the ingredients in the balm are natural. Having used the product for several months, I have actually noticed the plumping effects. Use it religiously (at least two or three times a day) for a few weeks, and you 'should' notice some plumping. I wasn't expecting the result, so was pleasantly surprised! |

I still haven't noticed any significant "plumping" action with this product, but I guess my lips are a lot more smooth & hydrated after using this, so they do look a tiny bit more plump nowadays |

Juice Beauty Lip Plumper
The third product review from my beautybible.com testing package.
This comes in a squeezy tube. You need to press quite firmly in order to dispense the product, but that's not necessarily a bad thing, as it means there's less chance of accidentally squidging out a whole load and wasting it.
The scent is a gorgeous, fruity, citrus one. It also tastes lovely and lemony on the lips!
I've been using this lip plumper each morning and night for a month. Must admit that I've been pleasantly surprised by its lasting power. Applied in the morning, it stays on until lunchtime, whilst, applied at night, it's still there the next morning.
Although I haven't noticed any miraculous plumping of lips, the bottom one does look a little larger for a while after applying. Mind you, I can get a similar effect from massaging most lip products into my lips.
As for softening, this is pretty effective. My lips do feel soft and hydrated for most of the day, and all of the night. However, it doesn't quite match up to my Valmont Eye & Lip Contour Cream - which makes my lips softer and more hydrated than anything else I've tried so far.
So my verdict is, I'd definitely re-purchase and use it if I didn't have any Valmont. Definitely one of the better lip products. |

It's not going to make your lips look much fuller for long, I think, felinehhy. But it is a lovely product for smoothing, softening, scent and taste. |

Wow,I was just thinking today it was a shame I had never found a nice natural lip balm in a nice tube rather than a pot and I found this review. Just gone in my basket |

Daisy - I've just started testing another one! This new one's a non-petroleum containing, lip salve in a tube. It's by a company called Balance Me. Only used it twice so far, but seems quite nice. Will write a review after I've given it a longer trial. |

Oooh, sounds promising! Though I think it will be about another 6 months before my Nuxe lip balm finishes! It lasts for ages and I like it but it's in a pot (grr). The PTR one doesn't seem to contain petroleum, but does contain as its main ingredient some sort of silicone? Is that bad? I looked up the ingredient on Google and some of the results were bathroom sealant..?! |

Depending upon the type of silicone (water-soluble versus non water-soluble), it merely serves to coat the lips (or, in the case of hair-care products containing 'cones, the hair shaft) so that any moisturizing/nourishing ingredients are unable to penetrate into the lip tissue to hydrate the lips from the inside out. Silicones in lip products are going to act in much the same way as lip products made mostly with wax: they're going to form a barrier on the lips which would prevent sun-burn/wind-burn from chapping the lips further, but it isn't going to do anything to heal lips that are already severely dry and chapped. |

This Balance Me one I'm testing at the moment contains beeswax, so will likely suffer from the same problem, sadly. |

It is not a temporary lip plumper. It is really hydrating. I cannot leave it in the winter |

A good rule of thumb is that if a lip balm is in “stick” form, then it’s going to contain A LOT of wax (or other “hardening” ingredients) because the wax is what gives the balm enough substance to hold it’s shape in the stick-form.
Those type of lip balms typically are going to sit on the surface of the lips. They *do* serve a purpose in that they prevent sun-burn/wind-burn because they create a physical barrier and can help keep healthy lips from becoming chapped, but for lips that are already in bad shape...you need a balm that contains little to no waxy ingredients so that the moisturizer/s can penetrate and get inside the tissue to hydrate it. |
