Hi all,
I had two focal tca peels done (low concentration) on the front of my neck to remove an SK. The skin on my neck is very sensitive due to previous sun exposure so I am trying to take measures to avoid hyperpigmentation.
The SK is shrinking but is still there so I am going back in the beginning of July for another peel if it is needed.
I have a discolored area around the SK right now (was red, now fading to a brownish color).
I have to cover it with make-up as it is noticeable.
It has been just over a month since the last peel and I am currently using Retin A micro (0.04%) every night on the SK (after the old skin had peeled off) and I use Aloe gel during the day to keep it soft and moisturized. I am going to ask my esthitician about incorporating PCA HQ free pigment gel into my routine as well to fade the discoloration.
Anything I do will be under the approval of my esthitician but I was wondering if anyone else had advice or personal experience with hyperpigmenation after a peel and what they did to help fade it. Also, how long can hyperpigmentation last? I understand it may take weeks to months to fade.
Thanks! |
