Has anyone found products that are effective in dealing with the problems of aging hair. I have found that my hair has changed a lot in the last few years (I am 58). It is dryer and has changed texture - seems more prone to frizz and there is less of it. I feel that I have finally found a skin care regime I am pleased with and would like to do the same for my hair. |

Phillip Pelusi has a line for aging hair. I have not tried it yet but have been reading on the forum (somewhere) raves about Pelusi products.

I have used Wen Conditioning Cleanser and love it. My hair is very shiny and manageable after using it. You would need to pick the one for your hair type. I use the Almond Mint as my hair is baby fine. The only thing I find is that I need to go back to a regular shampoo for a few days after a week as my hair can get weighed down.

Just recently I purchased shampoo from The Body Deli. Their Living Cell Shampoo and conditioner is AWESOME. My hair color treated, mature, fine head of hair has a new vitality. The shine is unbelievable.

I just love the Frizz Ease range as my hair has gotten very dry and frizzy also. I spray their Straightening Potion step 4 on after shampooing and just comb it through it makes my hair really calm and settled, its also a protective from the blow dryer. A lot of these products are for straightening hair but even though my hair is straight a friend recommended them and I have never looked back. I sometime buy the whole range shampoo conditioner etc but to just use the spray is sufficient and I would not be without it. |

Philosophy's hair care line is supposed to be good for mature hair. I've not used their new shampoo, but I used their older one that they don't produce anymore and it was awesome. I have to imagine the Shear Splendor line is good as well. |

I agree with the Philip hair products, they're really good. Also Phyto has similar products, which are much cheaper. |

I think Pureology's Nanoworks line is overpriced, but it does a good job of keeping my color-treated hair healthy and shiny. I'm planning to switch back to Pureology Hydrate, which is much better priced. I love the peppermint in the Hydrate conditioner.
Pureology products are free of SLS, BTW.
What has made a big difference, though, are supplements. Daily intake of MSM and Biosil are making my hair grow like crazy! It's also made my eyelashes fuller. |

The only thing that I do with my bouncy hair is to put natural coconut oil on my hair whenever I go to the sauna for half hour. This stimulates my hair and by the time I shampoo it, my hair is not only shiny but well manageable! Please try it. My hair has never had a bad "hair day!"... Sometimes, we have to go back to basics..... also drink lots of water!

Also, avoid using sticky hair styling creams on your hair. This causes damage to your hair. Use manual rollers instead of electric hair dryers... This will help too.

Do you take Biosil in pill or liquid form? Also, where do you buy it?
TIA |

Winnie, now I'm craving that Living Cell Shampoo! I just tried Dr H Apricot&Buckthorn Shampoo and it's nice, sounds a lot like the same type ingreds.
Will love to try the Body Deli!
I'm trying Zenbiotics Activex spray twice a day for scalp nourishment and regrowth, so far it makes my hair fluffier at the roots and clean feeling. It's a great perker-upper if nothing else. Said to take 4-6 months for regrowth to become apparent. I'm hoping! |

This has been a concern of mine for a couple of years. As I'm growing in my gray, I see that my hair is more dry and thinning (due to unavoidable meds I take).
I started taking spirulina and horsetail capsules, in addition to my multi and other supplements that I take. I am hoping for healthy growth, but I'd be happy with just healthy hair even if it grows at a slower rate now. |
