I have recently discovered the brand "Reviva Labs" while searching for something for my Obagi maintenance, plus something for Rosacea (a symptom I've never had before). I've spent hours and hours to compare, research, almost buy something then chicken out, called specialists for advice, read many reviews that gave me headaches, etc...anything you can imagine (I even began to wonder whether all these were worth it).
After all, I decided to go for this brand and bought the following items (waiting to receive them):
Firming Eye Serum with Alpha Lipoic Acid, Vitamin C Ester & DMAE
Alpha Lipoic Acid Vitamin C Ester & DMAE Night Cream
Vitamin E Stick
Alpha Lipoic Acid Vitamin C Ester & DMAE Hand & Body Lotion
Sun Protective Light Cream Moisturizer
Glycolic Acid Renaissance Cream 5%
Rosewater Facial Spray
Based on the main ingredients and reviews, I would expect the above products have to work. The nice thing is that I only spent (with shipping charge) less than $64 on all 7 products!
Though I yet to wait for the results, I'd like to post this thread here to see if anyone happens to have experience with this product line. I would greatly appreciate if you could share some tips or give advice here.
All the best. |

It seems to have very strong ingredients list and very fair price.
But the packaging of this line seems totally unattractive... |

I am aware of the unattractive packaging. Their products were designed for salons across the country, guess that might be why they don't pay much attention to how the packages look, and in turn, brings down the prices. Some reviewers brought this up, but many enjoyed this product line. I especially checked out the similar night cream from Janson Beckett, read the reviews (there was nothing under 5 stars on spalook.com though there were negatives on skinstore.com) that made me conclude those key ingredients were highly effective. Since Reviva Labs carries similar products and are much less expensive so I decided to give it a shot.
I ordered a new Obagi Clear and haven't opened it. I now wonder whether I don't have to use Obagi to maintain the Nu-derm results. I've found some products claimed to do dead skin "slough off" and I've experienced it with the samples I've got. It would be so much better and more economic if I could move on to other products. The Glycolic Acid Renaissance Cream 5% is one of them. The Reviva person I talked to said it might be too strong for me since my skin is now sensitive. She isn't aware that I have been on Obagi. If I can tolerate Obagi, this product may be a pretty good choice for me. I do not plan to buy any other Obagi products other than Clear (which I'm now even wondering). The combination of the nu-derm products has made my skin so sensitive, created rosacea that I'd never had before. I see more damages on my face today than good from the nu-derm.
I will definitely keep you updated on the results. I will try to report as soon as I see results.
Take care |

snakebaby, were you diagnosed with rosacea by a derm?
All you can do is try the products and see if pigmentation becomes an issue for you without the Nu Derm. Some people can get away with not using any of the products, sticking with Retin A and a sunscreen to maintain their results, but honestly they are very few and far between that can do that. |

Hi rileygirl, nothing specific was officially diagnosed. But having the symptoms for few months, with what I have read on the internet, I have no doubt in my mind I do have rosacea, even though it isn't severe, people may not even notice that but myself, it has been getting worse, especially the few that look absolutely like "broken capillaries" - that is something I've never had before. I rarely even had acne in my whole life. But for the past few months I especially had bad reactions around the chin area - itchy, red, puss coming out, raised bumps, etc., it wasn't the "normal" reaction I used to get from nu-derm. Regardless if it is indeed rosacea, I know that I can't be on RA anymore, or if I do (I may), I'd only use it once a week, may not use it around the chin area at all.
So in a word I'd prefer to stay with a different product. If the pigmentation doesn't come back, I would skip Obagi. Also if the products I'm dying to try will indeed slough off the dead skin and ultimately give me new skin, then there really would be no reason for me to have to continue with nu-derm.
I'll have my fingers crossed. Other samples I have been trying include Suki intensive lightening something. I hope something would work for me and you guys as well after all! |

That doesn't sound good, snakebaby. I think you are doing the right thing by staying off the Nu Derm. I have the broken caps, as well, and they are not pretty!
I am really hoping your new products will work for you! Good luck and keep us posted. |

I just ordered some of the things you mentioned, and also the lightening day cream and night cream. The combination is supposed to work together to fade spots. I read customer reviews on vitacost that it works, but if not, I have 30 days to return them. I can post results after I try the combo a couple of weeks. I also got the cleansing milk. |
