Last summer I developed a brown patch on my left cheek that has driven me crazy for almost a year. I have tried over the counter creams as well as Tri-luma, and recently have turned to home chemical peels in an effort to clear this up.
Last week I went to a specialist who said that my main problem was not melasma, but rather inflamed blood vessels from rosacea (which I also knew I had but have felt it was moderate enough not to require treatment). She suggested that I undergo a regimen of 3-4 V-beam laser treatments to get the rosacea under control. She also said there were some brown spots, but that was not what the major problem was.
I am worried about getting any laser treatment because I am still convinced that the patch is melasma (why would rosacea turn to a persistent brownish patch after a long weekend of sun exposure?) and have read many people have had issues with worsened hyperpigmentation after laser treatments. The doctor said that V-beam would not worsen my condition, but I fear that if I do have melasma, that it may make the patch darker and I canNOT deal with that!
Does anyone have any experience with V-beam laser treatments? Especially anyone who has both rosacea and melasma? I wonder if by treating one problem I will make the other worse. I can deal with the ruddy complexion and occasional flushing, but I don't want to have a permanent blotch on my face that is worse than it was previously.
Thanks for any feedback anyone can provide about V-beam treatments. |

I have taken v-beam treatment for my redness acne scar. The result is quite good with new scars but for old ones is so so. |
