hello all. this is my first post!
i've been battling acne for years- using a laundry list of Rxs like the other thread on here. currently i'm usuing differen and brevoxyl. it worked really well at first, but has ceased to. i think part of the reason is my make up and cleansing routine. aside from acne, i have really uneven skin. with my make up on i look ok, but off its embaressing. i'm very red, also have reallly dry/irritated skin around the eye area. iw as using an eye product by clinique but it "burns" and makes things worse. now that winter is here my skin is getting dryer, make up flakier , and break outs worse. does anyone have any product suggestions?? i've been reading alot about cleansing oils and of course im scared of the word "oil".. also as far as make up... any good foundations suggestions? my skin was getting really clear and i barely needed any but now it seems to have reveresed itself. Help!!!! thank you thank you |

For my ance, easily irritated and sometimes dry skin I like perscriptives foundation (http://www.prescriptives.com/) Currently I'm using Liquid Touch Compact Makeup but have also used Virtual Matte Oil-Control Makeup. Neither make my skin angry and they control redness well because the color is matched perfectly. The liquid touch is a bit dewey if you like that look. I find it best to use a foundation brush for that one. The virtual matte is great if you like a bit of shine control and just slop it on with hands, sponge or whatever you like. |

Hi and Welcome!!
I second to Lianne on Prescriptives foundation... As the matter of fact, Prescriptives is by far one of the few departmentstore skincare that my skin do not have sensitivity reaction with... I have Combination/acne-prone/very reactive skin... I've been using Prescriptives Virtual Skin for sheer to medium coverage and esp during winter; and Traceless for more of a sheer coverage and during warm weather... you can apply them with brush but I just use fingers to lightly blend the color in... I also use their Camouflage kit/Full coverage concealer before Virtual Skin/Traceless to hide any red-angry looking acnes or scars and it works very well!!
About the cleansing/skincare routine for acne skin, I've been using Yonka Cream 15 and Juvenil and Cream PG along with Decleor Ylang Ylang Balm (I prefer this over the oil), cleansing gel and toner, and Hydra-matt fluid... and so far, my skin has been behavioring great Now if you want to try either line, you should email the EDS lady for suggestions specific for your skin type...
I also find the Calendula Cream great for healing "fresh" acne scars... the one I use is by Jurlique and you can actually get some samples to try first.... I squeeze out the sample into little jar and it lasts me a long time... you can also apply the cream to your entire irritated/dry face as face cream, as I was told by the SA from Jurlique...
I'm not a big fan of clinique... lots of harsh ingredients and they broke me out like crazy... probably a good idea to toss them if you are reactive to it...
Hope this is helpful |
