Hi! Just wondering if anyone here can recommend a place to get a facial in Montreal.. (maybe no one is from Montreal?). I have been to a few places on recommendations, but haven't been very impressed.

Thanks!

Hi I'm from Montreal but sadly have not found either a good dermatologist (focused on esthetics) or a good place to get facial treatments!

If you find anything... please let me know!

Thanks Josee! I went to Pure Salon last month, which is now all Aveda.. (before, the estheticians used different products). It was pretty good.. I paid $95 for a 90 min facial (bc this version had more extractions, which I need). It was a nice experience, incl. a foot exfoliation and massage, which I wasn't expecting! I was kinda like, "Hey - I am paying for you to fix up my face!"

Anyways, I am not sure if I am in love with Aveda face products. I didn't see a great difference, just the usually mild break out afterwards, plumper skin, etc. My skin is acting better than before, but I wonder if it's just the advice from the esthetician to not wash my face as often...

Do you have any bad/mediocre experiences?

I have had not good experiences with the dermatology center at Westmount square... the place looks really nice and expensive but the attention was not good at all.

Hello, I am also from Montreal. I went to Westmount square esthetician place and I didn't like the service. The lady talked with someone on the phone 3 times while she did my facial and she was not gentle with my skin. I asked her not to press on my skin as hard, but she said that I am too sensitive and she continue with the same rough massage... I said again that it is painful and I had to stop her. She continue to explain that she learn at her school how to make a facial and she is doing everything buy the book.
Anyways, it was a bad experience...
I you find any good esthetician, please let me know.

oops.. when I said I got a facial at Pure, I meant Tonic..

Anyways, I have read some good reviews about Pure in Les Cours Mont-Royal, but I don't know anyone who has been.. I don't want to waste money on a just a face massage, I want a real facial!!

I just wanted to let my fellow Montrealers know that I will be going to a Dr. Haushka spa. I have heard great things from the product, and one EDS member described the experience and it sounds... heavenly!

Here's a link to the description:

And here's a link to the spa:

I'll let you know how it goes...

I'm also constantly looking for a good esthetician. But have trouble finding one. It's either good (not excellent) and expensive (Elm spa), or cheap and really bad Sad

I want to find an esthetician who is not up for selling something and can just provide an independent professional advice. Is that even possible Question

Ayala Freilich does excellent facials (Dr. Eckstein products from Germany) and waxing. She has a great personality. She is moving to 3446 St. Denis, Suite 102, 514-844-5267.
Rita at Spa de Westmount does painful yet thorough extractions, using Sothys products.
There is an esthetician downstairs in Sheraton Centre-Ville (on René-Lévesque) who does facials leaving no marks, with long-lasting results and so relaxing I fell asleep, using Guinot products.
For pedicures, there is nobody better than Cécyle Leclerc, who has assisted podiatrists, at Spa de Westmount. Book 3 months in advance.

Russian Sunshine. I think you live in Toronto like I do. Maybe we could start a new topic asking for good facial recommendations for the GTA?

harriet, there are so few of us from TO Sad

A girl with nickname Skincare is also from TO. She recommends Dr. Goldhar as a derm. I haven't seen him yet. At the moment I am looking for a good esthetician. I dont trust my face to just anyone.

I'm in Montreal too. You're going to think I'm weird, but ever since I've joined EDS and used so many products, I've never had a facial and don't even feel the need for one....except maybe for the massage. That I would like. I always found the effects temporary and not really worth it. If you can convince me otherwise, please do
