Just curious before I go ahead with it.
I'm wondering if after prolonged use the hair gets dry? |

You should do a strand test if you are having mixed feelings and to be on the safe side. I don't believe henna dries your hair out, on the other hand chemical hair coloring can really dry the hair out. |

...apart from answering the door a few times with what looks like a cow pat on my head, no....though my friend found it really dried her hair out. It was VERY fine hair though, mine's pretty fine and it was less damaging than the chemicals I use now |

I have dark hair, and had previously bleached it, I wanted it back to dark but can't use strong chemical dyes unless I want to have a burnt head and walk round like the elephant woman for days. After getting it a little darker using Directions (what us funky punks use to get pink hair ) I decided to use henna, first time went well but not dark enough, second time my black hair had greenish blue tinges to it. Don't let me scare you! It was only in small strands and only if you looked cloesly in the light. Just to make the point things can go wonky to be fair it was my fault, when I bleached it some of it did turn greenish. |

I've only done it once so far but I'm gearing up to do it again (it's messy and time consuming). I was very happy with the results of my first one and haven't found it drying or otherwise damaging. When I first did mine I left it on for many MANY hours (rather than the 1.5 or 2 hours specified in the instructions) to get a more intense color. |
