Unfortunately it seems as if FDA does not really to have as much control over the cosmetic industry as we would like to think! It only seems to get involved if a prescription drug is added to cosmetics. I think we need a CA cosmetic administration to at least monitor and require warnings. But I doubt that will happen. It is up to informed consumers like you to take responsibility for finding out what goes into cosmetics and thankfully spread the word!
Thanks for the great post and link, very informative and helpful, we can make our choices with knowledge and not just accept whatever they market to us. |

Great info Inky...
For me, if I can't eat it, I don't want it on my skin.. 60% of everything put on the skin is absorbed, that means the good as well as the not so good.
The only exception for me, is the occasional use of Retin-A + AHA. I don't use sunscreen anymore either.. Avoidance, protective clothes + hats or mineral makeup for the beach is it these days. (And yes I live in Florida.. )
His organic skincare line looks nice.. For those who want a cheaper alternative, I'd recommend the Juice Beauty line (sold here at EDS), which is also USDA certified organic.. Love it! |

Please don't be afraid to post your quearies to other DIY members who will be glad to help you (or sell you their wares..lol) Still happy with LED, dermarolling and a DIY antioxidant regime. Peace & Hugs to all.♥ |

I am a subscriber (for free) to his newsletter. I'm not sure how I got on his list, because my initial reaction was that he was a snake oil type. But then I read a newsletter or two, didn't cancel, and have learned that I need to skim every newsletter. He covers a wide range of topics, and often is way ahead of the curve in pointing out good nutrients/exercises/behaviors and fingering toxins and other developing problems.
Although his focus seems to be on individual health, he also talks about issues that have far-reaching implications.
He hawks a bunch of stuff like vitamins and sunscreen that seem overpriced and no better than the competition. I've never bought any of it. But he isn't just a shill for his products -- he has some great info too. Worth a look. |
