Hi All,
I've been using tca peels for a few years now, spot treating certain areas at a time, as I'm not brave enough to do my whole face. I find by doing this way my daily routine is not disrupted too much and I just cover the part that Ive decided to peel.
I hope someone can help me with a few questions.
1. How often should tca be performed on the same area.
2. Can you overuse tca peels, I read somewhere that our skin could only peel so much.
3. Is there now a better product to use at home which performs better than tca.
thanks

1. Every 2-3 weeks, depends on % being used also.
2. YES, you can definitely hurt yourself with mis or over use.
3. Depends on what your goals are. |

Hi Girliegirl,
Thanks for the reply.
Im using 25% tca I started on lower strengths and built up.
What I meant by overuse was, will it eventually thin the skin by over peeling.
My goal is to rid myself of the small perioral lines above my top lip, I've done spot peels on either side just where the lines are, and I've done this maybe 3 times but the improvement is minimal. |

That is disheartening to hear that the TCA isn't working for the lip lines. Did you use the 25% TCA all 3 times and how long did you wait between the peels before doing another one? |

Hi rileygirl,
I used 25% last time and 15% twice before.
The lines are slightly better, maybe I'll try a couple more 25%. |

Hi, nicola. Can you tell me how bad the peeling is in that area and for how long after you applied both the 15 and now the 25%? |
