Hi Ladies, I realized that I hadn't told you about this, and I feel like it's my big summer find: an spf lip balm that isn't white and isn't chemical -- h\e minerals lip balm (the men's line of Jane Iredale). Here's the best part: it's the *same* ingredient list as JI's Lip Drink, but since it's marketed to MEN, it's less expensive!! I've found it to be smooth and moisturizing; though it's a tad grainy, it's not nearly as bad as some of the other natural lip balms I've tried. It only uses zinc oxide for the spf 15 (at 8%), and there's no white cast, which was a big concern for me. Stays put, though I'm neurotic about re-applying. Husband uses it too, even for long bike rides, and he's been pleased as well. He also likes the simple navy blue tube (I guess the marketing works!) I've found it at dermstore and glow for $9.60 (since EDS doesn't carry), and there's free shipping to all US states. Happy summer!
Ingredients:
Active Ingredients: Zinc Oxide (CI 77947) 8%.
Inactive Ingredients: Macadamia Integrifolia Seed Oil, Beeswax, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Helianthus Annuus (Sunflower) Seed Oil, Persea Gratissima (Avocado) Oil, Copernicia Cerifera (Carnauba) Wax, Euphorbia Cerifera (Candelilla) Wax, Simmondsia Chinensis (Jojoba) Seed Oil, Aloe Barbadensis Leaf Extract, Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Citrus Medica Limonum (Lemon) Peel Oil, Tocopherol, Ascorbyl Palmitate. |

Thanks for the review! Sounds like a good product. By the way, my solution for a lip sunscreen has been to mix a physical sunscreen with a lip product and use that, that's what I've been doing. I think mixing the Devita sunscreen with 100% pure lip gloss is a great option for the lips. |
