I thought Careprost was the same as Lumigan.

I ordered Careprost because I couldn't order Lumigan from inhousepharmacy.com. They are processing their credit cards through China and I was afraid of hacking.
Anyway, I had a bad reaction to Careprost - my eyes were swollen and red for 24 hours after I used it. I thought it was the same as Lumigan, but I never had a reaction like this. Anyone else noticed any problem, or is this just my sensitive eyes?

It been a while since I've compared but it looks like all three have similar ingredient listings with variances in percentages:

Lumigan
Active: bimatoprost 0.1 mg/mL
Preservative: benzalkonium chloride 0.2 mg/mL
Inactives: sodium chloride; sodium phosphate; dibasic; citric acid; and purified water. Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH. The pH during its shelf life ranges from 6.8-7.8.
Usual Dosage: One drop in the affected eye(s) once daily in the evening.

Latisse
Active: bimatoprost 0.3 mg/mL
Preservative: benzalkonium chloride 0.05 mg/mL
Inactives: citric acid; purified water, sodium chloride; sodium phosphate; dibasic. Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH. The pH during its shelf life ranges from 6.8-7.8.
Usual Dosage: Apply once nightly directly to the skin of the upper eyelid at the base of the eyelashes using on the accompanying sterile disposable applicators.

The links above list an array of possible side effects so reactions obviously can and do happen but since you've used a bimatoprost product before, I wonder if perhaps it was a bad bottle. Is there an expiry date on it?

Also under Side Effects, it says:

Some of the side effects that can occur with bimatoprost ophthalmic may not need medical attention. As your body adjusts to the medicine during treatment these side effects may go away. Your health care professional may also be able to tell you about ways to reduce or prevent some of these side effects.

thanks so much for your helpful reply. I am going to try the Careprost by applying it with a tiny eyeliner brush on the base of my lashes and rinsing it off after 30 minutes. (I think it should be absorbed by then.)
My lashes are looking like rat fur now and I'm getting desperate. Confused

I'm going to keep checking on inhousepharmacy.biz. Hopefully, they will be able to secure another way to process their cc payments.
I guess I wouldn't be so concerned if they didn't ask for my birthday, last numbers of my ss#, etc. It's just too risky.

I have found Careprost to be incredible. Rolling Eyes

I'm on about my 8th week of using it probably 6 times a week on eyelashes and eyebrows. I use a thin sable watercolor brush which I dip in a drop of the solution I've dropped onto a mirror. My eyebrows are definitely more filled in and darker (I have blond hair), the lashes are darker, longer and almost look as if I've got permanent eyeliner.
