My mom and I were told there was a $23 flat fee charge on halloween night due to the demand of cabs.
Was this legit?
We also found that most cab drivers would ask us before getting in where we were going - if they felt we werent going far enough they would turn us down.
thanks for any info on this |

OMG... I was in NY on Valentines Day... it was a horror story! I was pretty young, and there with my job, but alone at the time... first time... I had cabbies turn the light off and lock the door just as I grabbed the handle... I must have been a site... as I was STUPIDLY wearing heels in the snow... chasing this guy down 5th ave... A woman that happened to be at the same conference gave me a quick education and got me back to my hotel... Flat fees are probably not legal... but I'd pay it... and they know it! |

He did say we could get out and ask another driver - although if they do this illegally - he could have been higher.
I realized after that I should have called the number behind hte driver on the glass. (I ALWAYS think of options when its too late)
thanks... |
