Hi i've just registered here. I have normal to oily skin, with a few blemishes. I'm from the UK, and theres not alot of products good for my skin colour(brownish), i would like to lighten it, and i've heard Pearl Powder is good for lightening and improving skin. I went to a herbal shop, and was told that Queen Brand Pientzehuang Pearl Cream is good to lighten skin. I was wandering if anybody has ever used this, or know anything?

We do not sell the product that you have mentioned, but based on the concerns that you have described, may I recommend the following products. These will not only help brighten the skin, but also refine the texture, and help control break-outs! You may want to try the following: Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant, Skinceuticals Serum 10 followed by Hydra B-5 Gel and Phyto + Corrective Gel. Also, using Dermalogica's Day Bright Lotion will give the skin a bright, lusterous look!

Hi, I am a Queen Pientzehuang pearl cream user but I don't usually have acne except when I am stressed out, although still use this cream because it leaves my skin great. I did give one to one of my friends who have heavy acne problem and told me it has really cleared, not all, but she has noticed the difference and has asked me to get another jar for her.

I think you should give a try. In few days you will start noticing that your skin will look much better, plus, it is also very economical so it is worth the try.

Here are the ingredients:

Active ingredients:
Stearic Acid, Cetanol Lanolin, Glyceryl Monostearate, Isopropyl Myristate, Sulfur, Perfume, Ion Exchange Water, Glycerine, Potassium Hydroxide and Pearl Powder.

It contains lanolin - which many people don't like and Potassium Hydroxide. This is what Wikipedia has to say about Potassium Hydroxide:

As a very strong base/alkali, potassium hydroxide is strongly corrosive, both towards inorganic as well as organic materials, including living tissues; care must be therefore taken, when handling the substance and its solutions. Its corrosivity is sometimes used in cleaning and disinfection of resistant surfaces and materials.

I would be inclined to do some more research on skin lightening products before you purchase this one.

You should read Liz's blog. She's a pearl cream user and has tried a couple of brands:

Just a test to see if it's possible to post in this mysterious thread.

ETA: It appears it is!!! Shock Wonder what happened to the original 4 pages and the 16 replies that are still missing (the index indicates that the thread should contain 24 posts in total Question ). How bizarre!

I was wondering the same.

This pearl cream sounds interesting. I wonder where to purchase. Is it only in the UK?

Hi ladies,

The forum has for quite some time now done background spam filtering, which is why you see very little actual spam on here. It still gets posted (LOTS of it) but as it goes through our spam filter it gets quarantined. That is why sometimes you see a thread with a few pages and when you click on one it tells you that no posts exist (they do, but they are not visible since they are nasty spam). This thread keeps getting targeted by spam from zautobusiness. I've now banned them but I have a feeling it's just an automated engine posting to whatever forum it can.

Best,
Mabsy

Lanolin and Isopropyl Myristate are higher risk for being comedogenic (to cause pimples). Your mileage may vary with the different brands of pearl cream. Some people do well, but quite a few have breakouts. You can consider using pearl powder to mix with your own moisturizer. At least you know that your own moisturizer doesn't break you out, so that if you get any skin problems, it would be the pearl powder, rather than any other ingredient.

Agree with m1rox that you should get pure pearl powder to mix into your moisturizer or just mix water with the pearl power to get a paste and then apply on your problem areas.

China-made pearl creams... well just that lately there's been erm some media frenzy about china-made products (food especially) in that the chemical contents etc. were above safety standards. As such, it's better to be a bit more careful i guess...

No offense to Chinese everywhere!! (and I am Singaporean Chinese myself btw haha...)

Pearl powder is used for lightening as an exfoliant. Nothing beats Epidermx II in that area, you can get it in the UK and at EDS!It has helped my browning, and has done wonders to even out my skin tone.

Aside from NCN web site, is there other site you can purchase pearl powder that can be taken internally with drinks?

I couldn't really find a US web site that sells pearl powder that can be taken internally with that search words. I then tried "pearl powder taken internally." I haven't really got far. The first link I chose to open has the benefits of pearl and I thought I would share the link. Sounds cool and impressive. I had no idea you could eat pearl and it has so many benefits.

http://newhope.com/nutritionsciencenews/NSN_backs/Jul_00/pearls.cfm

Oh, I found the first US web site that sells pearl powder.

http://pearl-powder.agedefying-secrets.com/order.htm

1 oz is $22.95 plus $6 to ship it in the US. So it comes out to $29, which is the same price as what NCN charges but NCN doesn't include shipping yet. I don't know how much NCN charges for shipping.

I have no idea how the two pearl powders from this site and NCN are compared though. This web site says it's genuine pearl powder. I'm going to try and email them to see if I could get more info on the powder whether it's from freshwater pearl or seawater. I don't know which is better!

Hey, on this same web site, I saw that the lady sells pearl cream, too. This is her ingredient list for the pearl cream:

Argireline®, Cocos Nucifera (Coconut Oil), Camellia Sinensis (Green Tea) Leaf Extract, Aloe barbadensis (Organic Aloe Vera) Juice, Persea americana (Avocado) Oil, Simmondsia Chinensis (Organic Jojoba), Emu Oil, Aspalathus linearis (Organic Rooibos Tea) Extract, Hyaluronic Acid, Simmondsia chinensis (Organic Jojoba) Oil, Zhenzhu Fen (Pearl Powder) Emulsifying Wax NF, Elaesis guineesis (Organic Palm) Oil, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Palm Stearic Acid, Tocopherol (Vitamin E), Ascorbyl Palmitate (Vitamin C Ester), Calcium d-Pantothenate (Pro-Vitamin B5), Xanthan Gum (Polysaccharide gum), Retinol Palmitate (Vitamin A), Salix nigra (Black Willowbark) Extract, Rosmarinus officinalis (Rosemary) Oleoresin, Azadirachta indica (Neem) Oil

Interesting that she put Argilerine in as the first ingredient on the list.

She sells this thing for $27 (+ $6 to ship) for a one oz jar. I wonder if this is reasonable. Anyone buys pearl cream from somewhere else? How much should it cost?

This lady offers a 45-day money back guarantee. Says you can even return an empty jar for a full refund. I wonder if that's for real or not.

FYI - While searching for places to buy pearl powder and/or pearl cream, I tried ebay and found a vendor with a China location who sells an ounce of pearl powder for dirt cheap like $3, and I saw that she also sells this Queen Pearl Cream (the title of this thread - sorry can't remember all the names). But after reading the ingredients again, I was worried about ordering it. Plus with all the scare about stuff from china tainted with poison last year, I felt I shouldn't risk it.

I am going to try this Queen Brand Pientzehuang Pearl Cream. I saw this for sale on ebay. There are several kinds of this brand pearl cream, but one of the sellers said that the 20g size is better because it got more Pientzehuang in it.

What exactly is Pientzehuang? Is it beneficial to the skin?

I finished a couple of jars of this cream. I really love it. It is considered one of the best herbal skincare lines in China. I stopped using it because I can't get it in U.S.
