anyone ever tried to add spf to their face cream/lotion. I guess I would need some zinc oxide and titanium dioxide powders (probably the micronized kinds or z-cote, since I have read that these are less whitening and blend smoother). Does anyone know about how much ZO and TD I would need to add to 1 ounce of cream? (for something around spf 15-20 protection)
maybe I should just buy something like Cotz, but I really like trying to concoct my own things...hehe
thanks peoples!! |

Not ignoring you dear, just don't know. Are you able to figure out home much you need by looking at an ingredient deck of a sunscreen, checking out the percentages of the actives? |

The website Garden of Wisdom says:
To 1.75 oz of *melted* product:
1 tsp Titanium Dioxide for an SPF of 15 (add an additional 1/2 tsp for SPF 30)
sorry, that's all the info I can find. I was wondering the same thing. |

This is from the Garden of Wisdom forum.

I don't DIY myself though. It's a lil too complicated for me.
I think you can ask wherever you are planning to get your ZO and TD from. If they can sell, they should know a thing or two about them. Good luck and have fun! |
