For the longest time I was tossing around ordering the Julie Hewett Camellia Lip Balm. With my last EDS order I finally did order it. This lip balm is amazing!! It goes on smooth, has a slight orange scent with no horrible after taste. And, best of all lasts a really long time on the lips as there is no need to apply it 10 times a day like other lip balms. I also have been applying it before going to bed at night and when I wake up in the morning my lips feel wonderful and are very moist. |

Click on Julie Hewett and you find the following in the description....
Description:
A delicate blend of essential oils of rose, Camellia, and orange which heals, not masks, chopped lips and skin. Camellia oil is closest to human skin oil. Used for beauty in ancient China. Petroleum-free |

I haven't used the JH lip balm, but her bijou sheer lipsticks are based on camellia oil, and they feel so good on the lips! No question when I need a lip balm it's the one I'd order. |

How does this work with the L2K? Where do you apply it in the line up? |

Nice, I love Julie Hewett lippies and the way they moisturize. I think I would love their camelia balm as well. |

It really is a great as it sounds. I ordered it in my last order and used it all winter. It feels a lot like the Bijou Sheer lipsticks in consistency--not surprising given the camellia oil in both, I suppose. I tried the lipstick style rather than the pot. I really hate having to dip my fingers in a pot and applying it to my mouth--somehow it doesn't feel sanitary at all. Especially given a product that will be used for months. I wonder, though, whether the pot version is even more smoothing and effective, though...Anyone try and compare them? |

I was really happy with the OSEA lip balm, while I was in Seattle, but then I went to Providence and the real winter and wood-stove heated house and probably the cross continent flights and it wasn't enough. My lips cracked and though I was there only 11 days at the end of Feb. it has taken almost 3 weeks back here in more humid Seattle for my lips to get back to their former moistness with the lip balm. So just a warning that it is fairly light and may not be enough for winter. I do like it a lot and wear it every day here and it works fine. And the fragrance is to die for as is the texture. |

Thanks for the great review Northerngirl - I am definitely going to have to add it to my wish list. I'm a big fan of lip balms. |

CLARIFICATION: Sorry everybody, in my post above I meant Julie Hewett lip balm, the camellia one. Don't know how OSEA got in there, but I like their products, too, just not the Lips that is part of OSEA Eyes and Lips. That one leaves a film on my lips with an ugly edge. It does work great for eyes, though. |

I bought this lip balm after recommendations on this forum. It has become my favorite lip balm, along with John Masters lip calm. JH lip balm moisturises lips and actually stays on lips for a while.
I would also like to add that JH gives lips a healthy, pinkish appearance, in my opinion (even though the balm itself is only slight orange colored). I get the same effect with balms containing avocado oil (like John Masters). They enhance lips' natural pink color. |

I also have the Camellia Lip Balm and absolutely love it. It has a beautiful texture - not to thick and not watery. It sinks right into the lips to moisturize them and has a very light, pleasant taste. To me it is sort of a light, fruity taste, but perhaps that's different for others as taste is very subjective. I'm so fussy about lip balms. I try so many and rarely repurchase because for some reason or other they're just not quite right. This one, I'll definitely buy again. |

I recently purchased Julie Hewitt's Camellia Lip Balm. Within 2 days of use I ended up throwing it out. My lips were peeling and chapped from this product! It has to be the orange/citrus ingredient. I had used another lipstick with this orange/citrus scent and the same thing happened. As soon as I discontinued my lips were back to normal. I was thinking, "Why would I want citrus which can be harsh on my lips"? |
