I'm going mad trying to find one that isn't chockfull of irritating essential oils high up in the ingredient list or potentially comedegenic ingredients. I want something that actually rinses well and has a gel/foam consistency. I tried PSf Gentle Castile Cleanser but that was incredibly drying!
Suggestions?
Thanks so much! |

DianaYvonne.com has a lovely Rose Hip Cleanser with a 5.5 Ph. It is a vegetable base product. I've used it and love it. |

Thanks for your reply miss anna
Lately I've been reading that Cetaphil is actually very bad for the skin barrier because of all the surfactants in it and its high pH. I never liked Cetaphil though anyway, I like 'washes' that rinse/foam etc...not a fin of cleansing milks either. |

Yes, I prefer foams and washes but it's hard to find them without surfactants. I have been using (shock!!)Estee Lauder foaming cleanser for dry skin (the pink one) and I find it very good for removing makeup and it doesn't leave my skin dry or tight. I don't know about the ph of it though. |

I LOVE Cellbone's Foaming cleanser. It has a pH of 5.5, subtle melon scent, and very gentle cleansers. Highly rec! |

Hey, thanks for the rec. I just checked it out, it has 1 gentle detergent. Looks intriguing!
I might just stop looking for a completely detergent-free cleanser because it seems that deterg-free cleansers are always full of botanicals, essential oils, spices or comedegenic ingredients that either irritate my very sensitive skin or clog my very clog-prone skin. It's a bit ironic because detergents are supposed to be bad for skin barrier and yet these deterg-free cleansers are compromising my barrier.
I think I'd rather use a cleanser with a detergent so long as it's the right pH. |

Hi Persnickety,
It seems we have similar skin issues. I have just recently been on a mission to find a cleanser that foams, won't irritate my sensitive skin or clog my pores. The best thing I have found thus far has been Olay's Gentle Foaming Cleanser for sensitive skin (in the tube). It is cheap, takes off all of my makeup with one application and doesn't dry my skin or irritate it (at this point anyway). I have been using it for about a week now and I am pleased. Cetaphil; both the gentle and oily skin versions were terrible on my skin and I can't stand anything that leaves a film because it will usually lead to clogged pores or irritation.
Anyway, I thought you might benefit from this suggestion... you can find it pretty much anywhere and since it is so cheap, you really don't have anything to lose. HTH!
