Hi everyone,
I am looking into some chemical peels, there are so many types out there, but the 3 most common ones are glycolic, salylic and TCA. I wonder if anyone here has tried all 3 peels, and can tell me the difference from a first hand experience ??
I think if the peels work as they claim to, aren't we all gonna save thousands on skincare, just wondering....

Hi Did,
I have had glycolic peels and honestly feel they are a waste of money. They are superficial and the results are short term. I have also had TCA peels done and find them to be more invasive and give much better results that are long lasting.
In my case the tca's required a week of down time. Hope this helps.

Hi Sherri,
Thanks for the quick response, but may I ask what's the percentage of the gly and TCA peel you used ?
and what did they do for you ? scars ? freckles ? or lines ?
Thanks again,

Hi,
I honestly can't remember what the percentage of gycolic was but am thinking 70. The tca's were 35,50 and 70 I believe.
It was for acne scarring and fine lines.

Haven't done "peels" with AHA/BHA but can say that daily use of 10% or so AHA lotion and 2%BHA cleanser did a great job in making my skin look new and clear. I only use the AHA every other night now - to keep the brightness there. I agree that AHA/BHA is somewhat superficial but for me, removing those layers of dead skin helps alot. I just ordered the AHA/Lactic acid serum from Cellularskinrx.com (free shipping) so we'll see how that works vs. my Alpha Hydrox lotion. As for TCA, this is much, much more of a DEEP peel than AHA/BHA. My sister swears by TCA for removing brown spots/melasma instantly but you do have a week of looking pretty scary. |

n the skin bio site there is a page that claims that 6 months of 10% aha is equivalent to doing a 70% peel or something...I have prob got the figures wrong, but there was this thing that you get the same results with a lower (and therefore safer) strength as a high strenght, but without the irritation or damage or thinning.
Better...when did cellular put out this serum? I didn't see it the other day?

I think I will give AHA a try, does anyone make anything higher than 10% ? and do you girls use it during the day too ? top it with sunscreen ?
Also, am wondering if there is a similiar serum with papaya enzyme instead....anyone ? |

Guapagirl, I think they just added new products on Monday. That's when I think I got an email about them...Can't wait to try the new products. So far, they have batted a 1000 in my book.
Diderot:
I use sunscreen every day so doesn't really matter which products I switch to from day to day. I like one papaya enzyme product from Adrien Arpel called Papaya Enzyme scrub. I leave it on for about five minutes then exfoliate the dissolved skin right off. |
