I am looking for a pair of leather boots and I have been looking for a few weeks now. Surely, one would think that it would not be difficult to find black midcalf boots with no heel. But it would appear that this is indeed almost impossible to achieve (at least in Australia, or Brisbane specifically) I've found *lots* of boots on heels, skinny heels, fat heels; cowboy boots etc No plain black flats. After spending absolute ages in the shops again today I found *one* pair. It's not spectacular but it almost fits the bill. Problem? Yes - no more available in black and size 37 is too small and 38 too big. They're almost $200 and they're nothing spectacular either
So, if any of you Aussie based EDS ladies (or gentlemen?) have seen something that fits that criteria could you pretty please let me know? This is driving me insane..... ![Bad Grin](images/smiles/badgrin.gif) |

Definitely not AUS-based, but have you seen Camper-boots? (Camper is a Spanish brand of extremely comfy shoes) They might have something like the ones you posted a picture of?
http://www.camper.com/web/en/home.asp
I normally use either 36 or 37, depending on the style, and 36 fits me perfectly fine.
Worth checking out, at least.
(another option: Bubetti) |

No Mabsy, that shouldn't be too much to ask for. I'm looking for the same thing myself. Come to NYC and we can shop together! ![Wink](images/smiles/wink.gif) |

Mabsy
you can try victoriassecret.com. Under their shoe section, under sub headings "Boots", then "Casual" - you may be lucky. I think they have a reasonable selection of boots, besides the lingerie
Shipping to Singapore takes about 12 days.
Good luck

This is going to be a multi-tasking reply
Nemi - I *love* Campers. They are my absolute favorite shoe and I am too embarassed to even say how many pairs of Camper twins I have I tried on Camper boots yesterday (the beige ones from current winter catalogue) and I loved them but there is a slight problem. I have really skinny legs and I *always* have to have boots altered because they're way too huge up the top. The Camper twins are very difficult to take in properly because of their design. That, plus they're not black and not midcalf. Also, the Camper range is very poorly represented in Brisbane and there's not much choice. What I love about Campers too though is that they are true to size. I'm a 38 and have not yet tried a pair of 38 Campers that weren't a perfect fit. I haven't heard of Bubetti but I'll search for it as soon as I log off here. Thank you!
Crazyskin - I'm up for shopping in NYC! Mind you, that would make my pair of boots over the $2000 mark with the travel and all
Mk - I'm sorry you're having the same problem. I assumed that Melbourne would actually be the best place to find them. Please let me know if you track anything down - if you can't find it in Melbourne I don't think I have much hope in Brisbane....
Jenny - thank you for the link. I tried to go to the VS site yesterday but couldn't remember the link and all I got was a ------------ site There's some really nice shoes there actually (on the *real* VS site I mean) but unfortunately no luck this time. I'm still surprised at all the cowboy boots everywhere.... |

What about horseback riding boots - you know, the ones that the Ralph Lauren models always wear...would that do? If so, maybe check out a specialty shop for horseriding...Just a thought...

i had the *Perfect* flat boots, for about 4 years ago,but while moving my mom nicely throw them away(she thought normal feet would grow, but mine are still a 37) im still searching them,it was some no -name -brand...I hope you have succes on the real victorias secret site (if you wanna buy some shoes there, its always helpful to be registred,it could be cheaper and it costs nothing ) Gosh, these boots in the middle remaind me so much on "these boots are made for walking"... isnt the Jessica simpson version cheasy?(i really liked the Antonio Banderas Version as puss in boots, sooooo cute) ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |

Mabsy, the way I see it if you buy 3 pairs you can divide the airfare cost among them and then they'll be a lot less than $2000
I found a lot of low heels at this website -
http://www.zappos.com/n/br/bq/842.html
They don't ship internationally but if you find one you like I'm volunteering to send it to you. |

mabsy, sorry i wasn't clear, but i was trying to say thiat i did eventually find some boots!! they were jane debster (stocked widely in melbourne, myers, david jones, etc), and they came in mid calf and ankle height (i got ankle boots because they were for work), and they were pretty cheap!! ($130)
http://www.sandler.com.au/shoes/Boots_Turbo.aspx
i found a link.
it is one of life's ironies, that when you are just wasting time, you find wonderful things to buy, but when you need something, it is like a desert out there.
hope this helps. |

Oooh, Zappos is great! I spend more money on that website than I do anywhere else. You can even find difficult widths there -- I highly recommend it. Their customer service is great, too, although their prices are quite high. |

Hey Mabsy
I thought low heel boots were in fashion this winter/season??
In a chain shoe store called Overland in Nz, we had an effluent overflow of that style!
www.overlandfootwear.co.nz is the site, and if you go to Boots, it has quite a few styles..
I know what you mean by the 37/38 difficulty. I bought a pair of ballerina flats that cost me a fortune, and the 38 was slightly too big without some thin socks, but the 37 would have killed my toes.
I guess if they are 37 leather, they may stretch with 'artificial' wearing.. like beating it with a hammer lightly. |

Thank you for all the suggestions.
mk - nice boots! I might take myself down to Mathers and see if they stock these....
I also really like the Isabella Anselmi Influx boots from the site that Miranets posted
However, I do believe that I *might* have found what I'm looking for - well, sort of anyway When I was looking at zappos.com (great site!) I had a look at the Dr Martens range. I didn't even consider these because they always looked heavy and kind of "industrial" to me. However, after looking at Zappos (they have some lovely boots there!) I googled for more Docs and found these....
![Image Image](http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y286/mabsy/3A63_Black.jpg)
I don't like the sole so much but I do like to boot itself. I guess they're good for casual wear plus they look really comfy - they look like they would serve me well in London in Nov/Dec when it will be cold but I'll be doing lots of walking. So, I'm tempted to buy these and a pair of more "classic" black ones (once I find the "perfect" ones). Question is which colour?
I actually like the red but don't know what it would go with... What would you get? Black or red? Do you think these (either colour) are nice or are they too heavy looking? Thank you - I really do appreciate your feedback on this. I'm terrible when it comes to choices.... ![Embarassed](images/smiles/redface.gif) |

Well, if you are still going to buy an additional pair of more classic black boots, I would definitely get the red ones . . . I really prefer them out of the two choices. I think they would go nice with jeans, but if you try to match the red that might prove challenging! |

Nice! I actually like the soles - not only comfy but fun/funky too. The soles set these boots apart from the ordinary. Oh, and they're probably practical too as they look like they can handle messy weather. Re color - red is going to be fabulous with Fall/Winter's rich dark browns. Also, when you consider that fashion these days is no longer matchy-matchy colorwise you could get a lot of wear from the red ones. That said, I'm the kind of person who sets out to buy anything-but-black but ends up with black anyway ![Laughing](images/smiles/lol.gif) |
