...knocked down from $78 to $39.60 for one oz.
Ingredients:
Water, L-Ascorbic Acid, Dimethyl Isosorbide, Propylenglycol, Glycerin, Licorice Extract, Cucumber Extract, DMAE, Phenoxyethanol, Zinc Sulfate, Bioflavonoides, Sodium Hyaluronate, Centella Asiatica Extract, Idebenone, Menthol
Will a 27% serum be more effective than, say, 20%, or 15%? I have remnants of other serums that don't state the percentage or pH of the product, so could one be mixed with another to bring the useable volume up while still maintaining the needed percentage for effectiveness? I have about 1/2 a bottle left of Avalon Organics Vit C Vitality Facial Serum, and I mix that with some vit c powder I got as a kit to mix with a base that came with it, but it's not pure L-AA, it lists ingredients as "purified water, L-ascorbic acid, Silica". So, still not knowing what percentage or what pH I've been using, but I figured I was upping the serum by mixing in the powder.
I was shopping for ingredients to get some effective vit c and dmae in my routine when I ran across this.
Whatch'all think? |

Cell bone has good products & sounds like a good deal. The kit you mentioned that had a base & vit C powder in it. Was it a "Perfect C"? I know I got some at WalGreen's called perfect C, it is made by Woodridge labs, comes with a 1 ounce serum & 5 vials of vit C powder. The ingredients were the same as you listed with the silica. I could never get the powder to mix with the base, it appeared to me the vit c powder was all silica??????? Anyway I been mixing LAA from TPF, with the serum base in this kit. I mix it as I use it in the palm of my hand currently & the LAA from TPF is alot better, as least I can feel a slight tingle when it goes on & it mixes well. I am going to do this long enough to use up the base serum, I won't be buying more. I will go back to making my own C serum, better & cheaper. |

Cellbone has some great products. Not knowing what type of C are in your products or the Ph level, my suggestion is to not mix your products. You could alternate the C product you have every morning. |

Sexi, I remember you. I had asked the forum for recommendations for a drugstore serum, and you replied with your story of this same kit, maybe early December or so. I have since then been reading many of the posts concerning the type of Vit C to get, and LAA seems to be "da bomb" of choice. I purchased the last two they had on clearance, keeping in mind your experience, knowing that I could return it if I couldn't get it to work. I also had planned to just mix the powder with the Avalon Organics I had just purchased instead of the mixer that comes with the kit. Here's what I do: I take a very small empty cosmetics jar, put in a small amount of powder and an equal amount of the AO serum, close the lid and slap it against my hand several times. This does a good job of mixing it. I can still see the powder in it, but, surprisingly, it spreads well on my face. Are you mixing your new powder with the mixer at the same ratio that the instructions on the PerfectC stated? I think that was the downfall of this product, there was no way in hell all that powder was going to mix with only 4 drops of mixer. It's discontinued anyway...a few weeks ago it was on their website, now it isn't. No answer to my email either. Does that mixer make a satisfactory base for your powder? I have 2 bottles of it to go through, and I'll use them with new powder if it works. Have you tested the pH?
Sister, the type of C in the AO serum is magnesium ascorbyl phosphate, and I believe some serums mix different types of C's, so I figured by adding the powder I was upping the Vit C percentage and hopefully lowering the pH. I have no pH strips, but I plan on buying supplies soon, and litmus strips are already in my cart.
I'm going to forego the Cellbone serum. My $$ will instead to to making my own.
Thanks to you both for your replies. |
