I had one a week ago to try and get rid of acne scars on cheeks.
Exactly 8 days later and it has all peeled off. I'm worried because I peeled some off myself and I know that you're not meant to...but the skin was dead and came off easily
Have I damaged more?
Also, I had a huge break-out of new pimples under the burnt area....is that normal? Instead of feeling good about my new skin, all I can see now is new pimples GRrrrr |

Or has anyone ever used the Obagi range of products
Im interested to know your reactions to it
I'm new here, 30 with what I consider to be severe acne (my friends and family say they don't notice, but that's probably because I hide it under tonnes of makeup)
Thanks for your help

Hello Bumblebee, welcome to this forum. I can't help you with your question because I have never used Obagi. I know that there are some on this forum who have because I remember reading a number of posts on Obagi. People have had either excellent results or horrible results. I remember that there were such extremes on this skin care line.
If you look on top of this page in the right hand corner you'll see a "Search" link. Click on that, then type in Obagi and you should get some previous posts on this line. Hope this helps you a little bit. |

Hi and welcome to the forum
I have been using the Obagi line since January but haven't had the blue peel. It has worked wonders for my skin even though at first it looked worse. Before Obagi I have had two PROFESSIONAL tca peels done by a DERMATOLOGIST, sorry for the caps but there is an annoying spammer on here pushing doing your own peels. It would be extremely dangerous to do them yourself.
I have to confess to having picked after both of my tca peels and like you scared myself. It turned out okay for me as I am sure it will for you. But please dont pick it could cause more damage.
You will experience breakouts at first both with peels and the Obagi line. Hang in there it does get better and you will be pleased with the results.
Of all of the things I have had done to improve my acne scarring honestly Obagi has been my change your life product. I could never say enough good about it even though the first few months were torture. Stick with it and feel free to email me anytime with questions.

Hello and welcome
Do a google search on TCA peels. That's what the Obagi Blue Peel is, except they color it blue. That's the only difference. This should help you.
AFAIK, EDS Member "some" has had a TCA peel. Obviously, sherriincanada has done it too. (hey sherri!)
Um, please don't touch any skin that seems like it wants to come off. If it did, it would fall off when you cleansed, or just randomly. Picking and pulling (even when it feels like it would fall off if you so much as looked at it) is dangerous and could lead to scarring. Don't touch.
I'd contact the person who performed the peels, if you haven't already. I wouldn't worry about the breakouts for now...I've heard they can accompany some peels. Don't touch them whatever you do, and don't touch the skin that's peeling. Whatever doesn't come off when you wash your face (scrubbing hard to make them come off doesn't count) you do not touch. Cleanse your face very gently.
hths! Good luck. |

I am waiting for the day I can be home from work to do the blue peel. I could never molt at work, LOL.
I have read that it is worth it, bet you can't wait to see your new face! |

Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for your replies.
I'm really pleased with the results of my obagi blue peel - unfortunately i had such a bad acne break out just after the peel that the results were sort of hidden by all my acne.
However, now that that has cleared up, I am pleased to say that with the help of the Obagi products my skin is looking better than ever.
I wouldn't say that the peel got rid of all my scars, but they are certainly reduced.
My next step is to have Erbium Laser....
Has anyone had this?

I'm having laser resurfacing with the Erbium laser at the beginning of the new year. I can't wait. I know at least one other member is planning on doing this too, but I'll let her speak for herself.
Research this procedure thoroughly, and find a great dermatologist. Some plastic surgeons perform it as well, but my pref is with an experienced dermatologist.
Good luck |
